UNPRI Faculty of Economics Strengthens Global Friendship: Faculty of Economics Establishes International Collaboration with Middle East College, Oman
The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) has established international collaboration with Middle East College Oman to strengthen academic collaboration and global knowledge exchange.
UNPRI, Medan – The Faculty of Economics at Universitas Prima Indonesia (FE-UNPRI) continues its progressive steps toward becoming a World Class University through an international collaboration initiative with Middle East College (MEC), Muscat, Oman. The strategic virtual meeting, held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, marked an important milestone in expanding UNPRI’s academic network to the Middle East region.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Harith Al Jahwari, M.Sc., Director of Employability and Partnerships at Middle East College, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, S.E., M.S.M., Dean of the Faculty of Economics UNPRI, accompanied by vice deans, heads of study programs, and representatives from UNPRI’s Partnership and Collaboration Office. In his remarks, Dr. Fajar stated that while the Faculty of Economics has previously established collaborations with universities in China, this partnership with a Middle Eastern institution represents a new and promising step to enrich the international exposure of UNPRI students and lecturers.
Dr. Harith Al Jahwari expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from UNPRI and introduced MEC as one of Oman’s leading private higher education institutions located in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM)—the nation’s hub for innovation, technology, and education. Established in 2002, MEC offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, business, technology, and logistics, with a strong focus on innovation and graduate employability.
During the discussion session, both parties exchanged insights from their existing international exchange programs. UNPRI and MEC agreed to explore concrete collaborations in student and faculty exchange, joint research, and global curriculum development that will bring mutual benefits to both institutions. The enthusiasm and synergy demonstrated during the meeting underscored the shared commitment to advancing higher education collaboration across continents.
This partnership initiative highlights UNPRI’s strong commitment to global engagement as part of its vision of becoming a socio-technopreneurial university—excellent, innovative, adaptive, ethical, and globally competitive. The collaboration aligns with UNPRI’s mission to prepare Indonesian youth to compete internationally, positioning UNPRI as not only a top private university in Indonesia but also a trusted global academic partner.
“We hope this partnership will serve as a bridge for cultural and academic exchange between Indonesia and Oman, while enhancing the global competitiveness of UNPRI graduates. Moving forward, our collaboration will focus on joint research, student exchange, international guest lectures, and the development of globally oriented, industry-based curricula alongside Outcome-Based Education (OBE),” said Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis.
The meeting was also attended by the leadership team of the Faculty of Economics UNPRI, including Bayu Wulandari, S.E., M.Si. (Vice Dean I), Dr. Fenny Krisna Marpaung, S.E., M.Si. (Vice Dean III), Enda Noviyanti Simorangkir, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. (Head of Master of Accounting), Tina Novianti Sitanggang, S.E., M.Si. (Secretary of Master of Management), Purnama Yanti Purba, S.E., M.M. (Head of Bachelor of Management), Herlin Munthe, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Ak. (Head of Bachelor of Accounting), Devi Alvionita Alindra, S.S., M.Si. (Head of Applied Mandarin for Business and Professional Communication), and Mei Lisa, B.Ed., MTCSOL.
