UNPRI Hosts "Prima Nusantara: Silent of Heritage Live Painting," VCD Students Perform Three-Day Continuous Live Painting
UNPRI's Commitment to Strengthening Cultural Identity and Fostering Student Creativity in the Global Visual Arts Era.
Medan – The Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) together with the UNPRI Marketing unit held a solo exhibition and live painting titled "Prima Nusantara: Silent of Heritage Live Painting by Tika" on March 12-14, 2026, at the UNPRI Campus Lobby, 10th Floor, Jalan Sampul No. 3 Medan. This activity features Tika Gohtama, a 6th-semester DKV UNPRI student, who will paint live with the theme of the richness of Indonesian culture. This proves UNPRI's commitment as a campus that continues to innovate in providing space for its students to explore creativity.
For three days, Tika will paint on a canvas measuring 1.5m x 1.5m with the object "Mosaic of the Archipelago"—a composition that blends North Sumatran local cultural icons like Gorga motifs or Rumah Bolon, elements of the archipelago like wayang, batik motifs, or Balinese dancers, as well as a modern DKV touch. The entire painting process will be broadcast live via TikTok Live on the @joinunpri and @dkvunpri accounts. This initiative shows UNPRI's role in facilitating student talent to be able to adapt to digital technology and modern trends to produce competent and high-quality graduates.
The first day is themed "Root of Culture", where Tika will start with a sketch while discussing with the host about the importance of young people caring about culture. The second day is the most interesting session with the theme "Colors of Indonesia", when Tika begins painting intricate details such as batik or songket motifs, while TikTok viewers can interactively engage. The third day is the climax with the theme "The Soul of Heritage", where Tika adds final touches of gold accents, then the event closes with the handing over of the painting to the university as a campus collection. Through this activity, UNPRI provides the best facilities to ensure every student can develop optimally in line with the university's Sociotechnopreneurship vision.
Through "Prima Nusantara", UNPRI wants to show that students can be agents of change who actively promote national identity. This activity combines tradition and digital technology, creating attractive cultural educational content while introducing UNPRI as a modern campus that loves culture.
