UNPRI Lecturers Successfully Secure Grants for the 2026 Student Aksara Program, Strengthening Real Contributions in Post-Disaster Recovery and Community Economic Empowerment
Winning National Grants To Support Post-Disaster Community Economic Recovery
Awarded Funding by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Yonata Laia and Williya Meta Deliver Appropriate Technology Innovations and Cassava Downstream Processing
Medan — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) has once again achieved national recognition through securing prestigious research and community service funding. Two distinguished UNPRI faculty members successfully secured grants under the 2026 Student Aksara Program funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The two funded innovative programs are led by Yonata Laia, S.Kom., M.Kom. from the Faculty of Science and Technology (Electrical Engineering Program) with the project titled “Empowering the Post-Flood Community of North Tapanuli Through Wheat Noodle Making Machine Grants for Home Industries,” and Williya Meta, S.E.I., M.M. from the Faculty of Business and Economics (UNPRI PSDKU Pekanbaru) focusing on “Strengthening the Upstream-Downstream Cassava Value Chain Through Cultivation Mechanization, Business Management Enhancement, Marketing Digitalization, Product Downstream Processing, and Women Empowerment in Kulim Village.”
Commenting on this milestone, UNPRI Vice Rector III for Research and Development (Risnovbang), Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed strong appreciation and reaffirmed the institution's commitment. "This grant achievement is concrete proof that UNPRI academics are consistently active and solution-oriented toward societal challenges. Through post-disaster empowerment in North Tapanuli and economic value chain strengthening in Pekanbaru, UNPRI demonstrates that research and community engagement extend far beyond the classroom, delivering transformative impacts on community well-being," he stated.
This success further solidifies UNPRI's position as an institution dedicated to fostering applied research, innovation downstreaming, and sustainable community service aligned with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
