Unpri Explores Cooperation with Finland University
The International Cooperation Team of Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri), namely Vice Chancellor I Unpri Seno Aji, S.Pd., M.Eng,Prac., Deputy Coordinator for Cooperation Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, M.Sc., and Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Computer Science (FTIK) Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., have held a meeting with one of Finland University's top brass Mr. Juha Christensen on Thursday (28/5). "This meeting is in the context of exploring cooperation between the two parties," said Vice Chancellor I Unpri Seno Aji, S.Pd., M.Eng., Prac., to reporters Saturday (30/5) in the Multipurpose Room of the Royal Prima Hospital, Jalan Ayahanda Medan.
At the meeting, said Seno Aji, the Unpri International Cooperation Team was accompanied by Unpri Advisor Dr. RE Nainggolan, M.M.
The meeting, said Seno Aji, essentially discussed environmental issues where currently, Finland University is actively creating a program to restore water pollution, especially in Lake Toba. Responding to this, Unpri Advisor Dr. RE Nainggolan, M.M., said that so far various parties in North Sumatra (Sumut) have created programs and conducted various discussions, workshops and socializations. However, most of these plans always hit the wall of policy and bureaucracy in the current government.
Then, from an academic perspective, Deputy Coordinator for Cooperation Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, M.Sc., added, in this case synergy and cooperation are needed between universities, especially with foreign universities, in developing research to overcome environmental pollution in Lake Toba.
"Currently, various methods and technologies are available to overcome water pollution and there are quite a lot of researchers in this field in Indonesia," said Refi.
At the end of the meeting, both parties hoped that Unpri students and students from various universities in Medan could continue their studies at Finland University, so that one day the best sons and daughters of North Sumatra would have a sense of environmental concern and be able to manage the natural resources they have.
