UNPRI Ready to Become a Research-Based University
Director of Career and Human Resources Competence of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education at the National Seminar at UNPRI Many Problems Faced in Improving Human Resources of PT in Indonesia
MEDAN (Portibi DNP): Director of Career and Competence of Human Resources (HR) of the Ministry of Research and Technology of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh MA MPd said that there are several problems in improving HR of Higher Education Institutions (PT) in Indonesia, such as the lack of lecturers with doctoral degrees (S3).
"In addition, lecturer publications are still low," said Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh at the National Seminar with the Theme 'Research-Based University' Organized by Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) in collaboration with Kopertis Region I North Sumatra, Tuesday (8/12) in the Multipurpose Room of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Jalan Ayahanda Medan.
The event was attended by the Secretary of the Central Lecturer Certification Team, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ivan Hanafi MPd (speaker), Coordinator of Kopertis Region I North Sumatra Prof. Dian Armanto (moderator), Head of BPH UNPRI Dr Tommy Leonard SH MKn, Vice Rector I Seno Aji SPd MEng Prac, Vice Rector II Ermi Girsang SKM MKes, UNPRI Advisor Dr RE Nainggolan MM, Director of the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) HIPAKAD Yusriando SH MH and rectors from a number of PTS in Medan.
On that occasion, Prof. Bunyamin motivated the lecturers who were present regarding careers and human resources. In relation to this, his party assisted the lecturers in terms of career development for the lecturers.
Prof. Bunyamin also emphasized that universities should improve the competence of educators, education personnel and increase the quantity of lecturers, to meet the expected target.
UNPRI in the eyes of Prof. Bunyamin is a great private university, has a good reputation and is developing rapidly at a young age.
Prof. Bunyamin hopes that UNPRI can further improve the quality of its human resources in the future. And, UNPRI can realize its vision and mission through the excellence of its human resource competencies.
"Hopefully in the next few years UNPRI will become a Research-Based University. We will see in the next five years. Because, UNPRI has shown several existing criteria," said this white-skinned man while hoping.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Central Lecturer Certification Team, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ivan Hanafi MPd added, from the data obtained in North Sumatra (Sumut) approximately 70 percent of the number of State University (PTN) lecturers have been certified. Meanwhile, from PTS, the number is still less than 50 percent.
"Specifically for UNPRI, some of its lecturers have participated in lecturer certification (Serdos)," said Prof. Ifan answering reporters.
According to him, Serdos can build the quality of education. Because Serdos, he said, aims to assess the professionalism of lecturers, in order to determine the suitability of lecturers in carrying out their duties.
"In addition, Serdos aims to protect the profession of lecturers as agents and learning in higher education," said Prof. Ivan.
In a separate place, the Head of BPH UNPRI Dr. Tommy Leonard SH MKn stated that UNPRI is ready to become a Research-Based University.
"For that, UNPRI always makes various efforts in order to build the human resources of lecturers, one of which is UNPRI inviting the Director of Career and Human Resources Competence of the Ministry of Research and Technology of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh MA MPd," said Dr. Tommy Leonar answering reporters after the National Seminar.
According to this young doctor, human resources are indeed the main factor in the world of education. To realize all of this is indeed not easy, because it takes time.
"The human resources of these lecturers are important, in order to develop and foster quality human resources of lecturers. This is what determines the excellence of a university that will produce quality children of the nation, "said Tommy convincingly.P08
