Dr. Willy Sunjaya Wins The Best Presenter at Lampung Family Medicine Forum

Medan, Students of the Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Education Program, UNPRI, namely dr. Willy Sunjaya, won Best Presenter at the PDKI (Indonesian Family Doctors Association) and LFMF (Lampung Family Medicine Forum) National Working Meeting held at the Novotel Hotel Bandar Lampung, July 25-27, 2024. With the seminar theme "Filling The Primary Care Gap: The Role of Family Doctor in Catastrophic Disease" which was officially opened by the Acting Governor of Lampung, Samsudin, Dr. Willy Sunjaya managed to outperform 483 other participants who attended the national working meeting and seminar, by raising the topic of the impact of catastrophic diseases in Indonesia.
According to Dr. Willy Sunjaya, preparation begins with finding a manuscript title, conducting discussions and guidance, collecting data until producing a manuscript that can be presented at the event. "Regarding the presentation process on the day, I presented the material in the form of a ppt in front of the two examiners and other participants, given 8 minutes of presentation time, plus 2 minutes of questions and answers regarding the material presented. The core material that I brought discussed the impact of catastrophic diseases in Indonesia in accordance with the theme of the event, namely Filling the Primary Care Gap: The Role of Family Doctor in Catastrophic Disease", he explained.
Dr. Willy Sunjaya added that the purpose of the material he presented was to discuss the burden of disease and finances from catastrophic diseases in Indonesia, trends and developments, as well as related risk factors while providing input on strategies for family doctors to reduce this problem.
When opening the national working meeting and seminar, Acting Governor of Lampung, Samsudin, the PDKI National Working Meeting and the Lampung Family Medicine Forum Seminar are very important for the continuity of organizational management and the future of the primary care family doctor profession. Moreover, currently Indonesia is focusing on the transformation of health services in primary care, and several KKLP Specialist Doctor Education Study Programs have been opened.
"This seminar has a very important meaning in efforts to improve the quality of health services, especially in critical illness services, such as cancer, heart disease and chronic respiratory diseases. Family doctors are at the forefront of the health system, who not only provide medical care, but also accompany patients in the long term. They have the ability to detect early, provide appropriate care, and ensure that patients get the support they need," said Samsudin.
Samsudin appreciated the holding of the seminar, which strengthened the role of family doctors in filling the gap in health services at the primary level. "I am sure, through the in-depth discussion and knowledge sharing that we will do today, we can find innovative solutions to improve health services for our community," he said.
Samsudin also expressed his gratitude to the speakers who were willing to take the time to share their knowledge and experience. Also conveying the same appreciation to the seminar participants, for their enthusiasm and dedication in efforts to improve the quality of health services.
"I hope that this national working meeting and seminar can produce useful recommendations, and can be implemented in our health system. Let us work together to create better health services for all Indonesian people in general, and the people of Lampung in particular", hoped Samsudin as the Acting Governor of Lampung ending his speech.
