UNPRI Sends Off Students to Compete in PON XXI 2024
Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan released a number of students to compete in the XXI Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) in 2024, Saturday (8/24/2024) at the UNPRI Campus, Jln. Sampul No. 3 Medan.
In the farewell event attended by a number of deans and other students, UNPRI also gave appreciation to students who helped make UNPRI proud in the national sports scene, and also gave motivation to students to continue to excel and achieve their goals in the future.
Vice Rector III of UNPRI, Dr. Said Rizal, S.H.I., M.A, accompanied by the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau Dr. Windania Purba, S.Kom., M.Kom, Head of the Career Center Tiara Aulia, S.Psi., M.Psi, said that PON is a very prestigious event, a place where the spirit, talent and hard work of participants are tested at the national level. According to him, UNPRI students who compete in PON not only bring their own good name, but also bring the good name of their alma mater and region. This is a great opportunity to show the students' ability to build friendships with athletes from all over Indonesia, and most importantly, to make the nation proud.
"As the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, I feel proud and honored to be able to witness your struggle from the beginning until now. I know that the process towards PON is not easy. You have gone through many challenges, tough training, and great sacrifices. However, all of that is part of the journey to achieve brilliant achievements," said Said Rizal.
"UNPRI is always committed to providing full support to you. We believe that with enthusiasm, hard work, and support from the entire academic community, you can achieve the best results. Remember that behind every medal, there are prayers and hopes from the entire family of Universitas Prima Indonesia," he said. Said Rizal reminded that in every competition, the spirit of sportsmanship must always be upheld. Winning and losing are part of the competition, but the most important thing is how we compete honestly, enthusiastically and also respect our opponents.
"I also want to tell all of you, keep maintaining your health and fitness while participating in PON. Don't forget to keep communicating with your coaches and mentors, as well as support from friends and family at home. Remember that you are not only fighting for yourself, but also for everyone who supports you. Good luck to all students who will go to PON Aceh-Sumut 2024. Hopefully you can give your best, bring home medals, and of course bring honor to our beloved university," he said.
Said Rizal hopes that students will continue to develop their potential and improve their achievements, both in academic and non-academic fields, such as sports, arts or research.
"Student participation in national or international activities will improve the good name and reputation of Universitas Prima Indonesia in the national and international arena," concluded the Vice Chancellor III of UNPRI.
