Universitas Prima Indonesia Students Officially Participate in International Program to Improve Global Competence in Education and Culture
With great joy and a spirit of togetherness, Shandong Food and Drug Vocational College officially opened the International Youth Exchange Program in China, sponsored by the China International Talent Exchange Foundation, Wednesday (9/4/2025). This opening ceremony was a special moment that brought together two great cultures: Indonesia and China.
Also present as guests of honor from Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) were Au Liango (Li Yawu) (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. Elly Romy, S.E., B.A., MTCSOL (International Cooperation Coordinator), Dr. dr. Linda Chiuman (Vice Dean of FKKGIK for Student Affairs), Suandy (Head of Medical Study Program), Mr. Razoki (Head of Pharmacy Study Program), Novitaria (Lecturer), and 28 student participants of the program.
The event was warmly opened by Cong Shuqin (Vice Dean of Education), who welcomed the Indonesian group with great hospitality. In his remarks, the Secretary of the Shandong College Party, Li Zhongxiang, expressed his pride in hosting this activity which aims to establish exchanges and strengthen friendship between the youth of the two countries.
A meaningful welcome also came from Au Liango (Li Yawu), the Chief Executive Officer, who emphasized the importance of building cross-cultural understanding for a more inclusive and connected future. “Today, I would like to share with you all about two aspects of learning, namely books that contain writing and books that do not contain writing. Books that contain writing are textbooks that we are familiar with, which train our ability to think logically and reason. While books that do not contain writing, even though they do not have words, still have an important role. This type of book sharpens our imagination and creativity. Only by reading both types of books together can we achieve complete learning and transformation,” he said.
One of the inspiring moments was the speech from the representative of UNPRI students, Gita Saraswati. "We are very honored to be able to come to this beautiful Weihai, to learn and exchange experiences with lecturers and students. We are looking forward to learning Mandarin, Chinese culture, and industrial visits. All these experiences will broaden our horizons and become a strong bridge in strengthening friendship between Indonesian and Chinese youth," he explained.
The program includes various educational and cultural activities, such as learning Mandarin, introducing traditional Chinese medicine, cultural exploration, and visits to local companies.
The symbolic opening was carried out together by representatives of both institutions, namely Li Zhongxiang, Au Liango (Li Yawu) (Chief Executive Officer), Cong Shuqin, and Elly Romy, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey for international youth in China. The event closed with a warm group photo session, becoming a precious memory of this inspiring day. (REL/MBB)
