UNPRI, Medan – The Career Entrepreneurship Development Center (CEDC) of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to strengthen its role as a center for student career and entrepreneurship development. This time, CEDC UNPRI, coordinated by Haposan Lumbantoruan, S.Pd., M.Pd.S., received a special invitation from Jobstreet by SEEK Indonesia, the number one recruitment technology company in the Asia Pacific region.
The event, titled Workshop and Coffee: Digital Recruitment Transformation, was held on Wednesday (20/08/2025) at Cantik Manis Café, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan. Haposan was accompanied by UNPRI Marketing Communications Datok Yan Djuna, and had the opportunity to meet directly with Richard Fransiscus, Branch Manager of Jobstreet by SEEK for North Sumatra, and Imelda Wong, Head of Jobstreet by SEEK Indonesia. The event was also attended by dozens of HRD representatives from leading companies in Medan.
Jobstreet by SEEK Indonesia, which has operated for more than 25 years in Asia and Australia with 2.5 million corporate partners and 42 million registered professionals, introduced its AI-powered platform update from SEEK Asia Pacific at this event. This technology provides a more precise matching system between job seekers’ qualifications and company needs. “This digital transformation is expected to accelerate the recruitment process while improving the quality of talent absorbed by the industry,” said Imelda Wong in her presentation.
In addition to introducing the new platform, Jobstreet by SEEK Indonesia is also exploring strategic collaboration with UNPRI, particularly in the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Business and Professional Mandarin Communication under the Faculty of Economics. This program is of special interest, considering the growing demand in the industry for human resources proficient in foreign languages, especially Mandarin, in today’s globalized era.
CEDC UNPRI Coordinator, Haposan Lumbantoruan, welcomed this collaboration opportunity. “We want UNPRI students not only to be ready to enter the workforce but also to have competitive advantages in the global market. Collaboration with Jobstreet by SEEK opens doors for students to connect more closely with industry and build professional networks,” he said.
CEDC UNPRI itself operates under the coordination of the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Dr. Refi Ikhtiar, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. This unit serves as a hub for career guidance, entrepreneurship development, business incubation, and alumni engagement. “With full support from the rectorate, academics, and practitioners, CEDC is committed to equipping UNPRI students to pursue careers and entrepreneurship in an adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive manner,” added Haposan.
