KIPD, PAPDI, and the College of Internal Medicine Visit UNPRI: Appreciation of the Leading Private University Pioneering Internal Medicine Specialist Programs in Indonesia
The visit of KIPD, PAPDI, and the College of Internal Medicine to UNPRI demonstrated appreciation for the university's role as a pioneer in internal medicine specialist education in Indonesia.
UNPRI, Medan - Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to make significant strides toward international accreditation for its Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK), strengthening its commitment to realizing President Prabowo’s ASTACITA vision. This step solidifies UNPRI’s position as a leading private university and the best socio-technopreneurship institution in Indonesia. On Friday (October 3, 2025), UNPRI welcomed a delegation from the Internal Medicine Science Committee (KIPD), the Internal Medicine Collegium, and the Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine Specialists (PAPDI) to its Main Meeting Room on the 10th Floor of UNPRI Campus, Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan Petisah.
The visiting team included Dr. dr. Rudy Hidayat, Sp.PD, K-R, FINASIM, FACR, Chairman of KIPD; Dr. Dr. IGP Suka Aryana, Sp.PD, K-Ger, FINASIM, Chairman of the Internal Medicine Collegium; Dr. dr. Eka Ginanjar, Sp.PD, K-KV, S.H., MARS, FINASIM, Chairman of PAPDI; Dr. Nadia Ayu Mulansari, Sp.PD, K-H, Onk.M, FINASIM, Secretary General of PAPDI; Prof. Dr. dr. Dyah Purnamasari, Sp.PD, K-EMD, FINASIM, Head of KIPD's Specialist Development Division; Dr. Robert Sinto, Sp.PD, K-PTI, Dphil, FINASIM, FHEA, Member of the Internal Medicine Collegium's Quality and Accreditation Division; and Kanu Eltantrie, SKM, from the Secretariat.
The event, which took place from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM WIB in a warm and collegial academic atmosphere, was attended by UNPRI Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., along with the university's leadership team, vice rectors, and the Dean of FKKGIK, Prof. Dr. dr. H. Gusbakti Rusip, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP(K)., PKK., AIFM., AIFO-K., as well as all vice deans, program heads, and faculty members of FKKGIK UNPRI. Dr. dr. O.K. Yulizal, Sp.PD-KGEH, Head of the Internal Medicine Specialist Program at FKKGIK UNPRI, and Dr. dr. Wienaldi, MKM, FISQUA, Director of RSU Royal Prima Medan, also attended.
In his speech, UNPRI Rector Prof. Chrismis expressed appreciation and gratitude for the visit and the support of the Internal Medicine Collegium in the establishment of the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) at UNPRI. Prof. Chrismis emphasized that this strategic step is a tangible expression of UNPRI’s commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health’s ASTACITA program, which aims to increase and distribute the number of specialist doctors across Indonesia, especially outside Java. UNPRI, as a leading and progressive private university, is ready to partner with the government in producing high-quality specialist doctors with global competitiveness.
The KIPD, Internal Medicine Collegium, and PAPDI teams expressed their happiness and appreciation for the warm welcome from the entire UNPRI academic community. They recognized that UNPRI has demonstrated exceptional quality and readiness to run the specialist program, in terms of curriculum, mentoring faculty, and educational facilities that are on par with public universities. UNPRI is now the first private university in Indonesia to offer an internal medicine specialist program with academic standards that match those of public universities.
The event focused on preparing the internal medicine specialist program at UNPRI, providing feedback, guidance, and instructions to ensure that the program’s learning process maintains high quality and ensures that graduates meet the expected competencies. The session ended with a friendly gathering and light scientific discussion between the Kolegium team and UNPRI’s FKKGIK leadership. The event continued with a visit to the UNPRI Teaching Hospital (RSU Royal Prima Medan) to check and provide input on the preparations of facilities to meet the required standards.
The team also expressed support for FKKGIK UNPRI’s efforts to achieve international accreditation, in line with the university’s mission to become a globally competitive institution. With the addition of the Internal Medicine PPDS, UNPRI now offers seven specialist medical programs, making it the private university with the largest number of PPDS programs in Indonesia. UNPRI also operates the most teaching hospitals, with six hospitals spread across North Sumatra and Jambi, with plans to expand to Riau Province, specifically in Pekanbaru. (Yd).
