FEB UNPRI Strengthens Synergy with Tanjungbalai City Government to Enhance Human Resources and Regional Economy
The Strategic Role of FEB UNPRI in Strengthening Regional Competitiveness through Government Partnership Programs


Medan – The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Prima Indonesia (FEB UNPRI) held an official meeting with the Vice Mayor of Tanjungbalai, Muhammad Fadly Abdina, as an initial step to build a strategic collaboration between the university and the local government. The meeting discussed strengthening synergy in improving the quality of Human Resources (HR), implementing research based on regional needs, and Community Service (PKM) programs oriented toward real solutions for the community.
The Dean of FEB UNPRI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, S.E., M.S.M., emphasized that UNPRI is ready to be a strategic partner for the local government in supporting various priority programs. “UNPRI is ready to assist Tanjungbalai City Government programs in succeeding in the improvement of HR and ASN (Civil Servant) competence, supporting the MBG program and the Red and White Cooperative, as well as encouraging the improvement of the community's economy through research on potential natural resources in Tanjungbalai City,” stated Fajar Lubis.
He explained that academic contributions are not only limited to research but also in the form of competency training, managerial workshops, MSME mentoring, and strengthening the governance of the fisheries sector as one of the regional's superior potentials. Furthermore, Universitas Prima Indonesia also opens opportunities for Civil Servants (ASN) through the Past Learning Recognition (RPL) Program. This program allows ASN to continue their education to the Bachelor's (S1) or Postgraduate (S2) levels to produce competent and high-quality graduates by recognizing the work experience and professional competencies they already possess.
The Vice Mayor of Tanjungbalai, Muhammad Fadly Abdina, welcomed the cooperation plan positively. He hopes that the synergy between the academic world and the local government can accelerate the quality improvement of the apparatus, strengthen the economic sector based on local potential, and reduce unemployment rates through the creation of new entrepreneurs and increased workforce competitiveness. This audience is expected to be the first step for sustainable cooperation that directly impacts economic development and the welfare of the people of Tanjungbalai City.

With a spirit of partnership and empowerment, UNPRI is optimistic that it can continue to support the development of Tanjungbalai City through the development of superior HR and research based on local potential.
