Head of UNPRI Nursing Program Attends the Send-off of 10,000 "Impactful Students" by the Director General of Diktisaintek at Universitas Negeri Medan
A Tangible Form of UNPRI's Commitment to Supporting National Education Programs and Empowering Students to Create Real Social Impact

The Head of the Nurse Professional Education Study Program at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), Dr. Sunarti, S.Kep., Ners., M.Biomed., attended the send-off ceremony of the "Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment in Disaster Impact Recovery in Sumatra" organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) at the Universitas Negeri Medan Auditorium on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. This presence reflects UNPRI's commitment to supporting national strategic programs that position students as agents of change in society.
During the ceremony, as many as 10,000 students from various universities in the regions of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra were officially released to support the recovery of areas affected by flash floods and landslides at the end of 2025. This program serves as the government's strategic response to complex post-disaster recovery challenges. Here, students are positioned as key actors to fill the gap between emergency response and long-term recovery or the early recovery phase through a cross-disciplinary knowledge approach.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, emphasized that the students' presence is not just an ordinary social movement. "We want students to be present not only bringing labor but also innovation and empathy. We release these ten thousand students as the nation's intellectual force to directly help the people of Sumatra recover sustainably through appropriate technology and solutions," the Minister stated. Students will stay at the affected locations for one full month or complete a minimum of 160 Effective Student Work Hours (JKEM).
The participation of UNPRI's Nurse Program Head in this national forum is part of the Nurse Professional Education Study Program's commitment to remain active in a health education ecosystem oriented toward real social impact. This aligns with UNPRI's Sociotechnopreneurship vision, where knowledge learned in the classroom must be able to answer community problems directly, measurably, and sustainably as a manifestation of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
