Hyejeon University Delegation Visits FBK UNPRI Art and Cultural Gallery: Strengthening Ties Through Cultural Exchange

Medan, July 17, 2026 — The Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) hosted a delegation from Hyejeon University, South Korea. The visit featured a cultural introduction session at the FBK UNPRI Art and Cultural Gallery, serving as a strategic step to strengthen international partnerships through cross-cultural understanding.
In her welcoming remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Language and Communication, Dr. Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum., warmly greeted the delegates. She emphasized that the gallery serves as an appreciation space for students to express Indonesia’s cultural richness within an academic context.
"We welcome the Hyejeon University delegation to our gallery to learn about each other's cultural values. Language and communication cannot be separated from their cultural context. We hope this visit provides a memorable experience regarding the diversity of Indonesian traditions that we preserve within our campus environment," said Dr. Dian Syahfitri.
During the visit, the delegates explored a collection of traditional attire from various regions of Indonesia displayed in the gallery. The FBK UNPRI team explained the philosophy behind the motifs and the traditional craftsmanship involved in creating these garments.
A highlight of the visit was the introduction of the Ulos Cloth. The delegates received an in-depth explanation of the Ulos’ role as a symbol of respect and affection in Batak culture. As a gesture of friendship, the delegates were presented with Ulos shawls, draped over their shoulders as a sign of honor. The atmosphere was further enriched by traditional Indonesian music, providing insight into the richness of local instruments.
The activity continued in the Sendratasik Room, where Hyejeon University students interacted directly with UNPRI students. In this session, they learned several traditional Indonesian dance movements. The atmosphere was interactive, offering students from both universities an opportunity to communicate and share cultural perspectives firsthand.
The visit concluded with a group photo session. Through this agenda, UNPRI and Hyejeon University affirmed that cultural exchange is a vital step in building inclusive and sustainable international cooperation.
