UNPRI and APINDO North Sumatra Cooperate
Socialization of Independent MSME Internship
Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) has officially become one of the partner universities in the Merdeka UMKM Internship program initiated by the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) of North Sumatra. On Wednesday, May 28, 2024, Apindo North Sumatra held a socialization of the Certified Student Internship Scheme for Accelerating UMKM Contributions in Class A 1819, UNPRI Main Campus, Jalan Sampul 3, Medan City.
This event was attended by 100 students from three study programs, namely Information Systems, Accounting, and Management. This socialization activity aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the certified internship program that can help accelerate the contribution of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in North Sumatra.
Head of the MSME Division of Apindo North Sumatra, Tjoe Mung Tong, S.E., who was also the main speaker at the socialization event, explained several benefits that students will get from the MSIB Merdeka MSME Internship Program. "Students will receive monthly living expenses, internship locations spread throughout Indonesia, opportunities to open new relationships, foster an entrepreneurial spirit, help MSMEs move up a class, and this internship will be converted to a maximum of 20 credits," explained Tjoe Mung Tong.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, UNPRI, Bayu Wulandari, S.E., M.Sc., in his remarks expressed his appreciation for this program. "We strongly support and are committed to making the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program a success. We hope that UNPRI students can develop practical skills and make real contributions to MSMEs," said Bayu Wulandari.
With internships at MSMEs, students will be more competitive, because the selection process will be carried out nationally. The Merdeka MSME Internship Program is part of the MBKM initiative initiated by the government to provide real work experience to students. Through this program, students are expected to not only gain theoretical knowledge in the classroom, but also gain practical experience that can improve their competence in the world of work.
This socialization activity is expected to be a good first step in strengthening collaboration between universities and the business world, as well as encouraging the growth and development of MSMEs in North Sumatra.
