Universiti Sains Malaysia Delegation Becomes the Largest Participant Group at UNPRI International Conference 2025, Praising Medan’s Hospitality and World-Class Facilitie
Cross-National Academic Collaboration: Universiti Sains Malaysia and UNPRI Strengthen International Research Networks and Knowledge Exchange in Medan

Precisely commemorating Heroes' Day on November 10, 1945, the grand event of the Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) international conference 2025 was held. This demonstrates UNPRI's existence as a world-class, best university through the organization of the UNPRI International Conference 2025, which features academics from eight countries.
One of these is the delegation from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with the largest number of participants, namely 15 participants. UNPRI is optimistic that creative ideas and positive, great concepts will be generated. Led by Prof. Dr. Nor Azwany Yaacob, who also serves as a key speaker in this scientific forum, the participants from USM were highly enthusiastic.
Warm Impressions at the Welcome Dinner
The Welcome Dinner itself was held in the Main Hall on the 10th Floor of the UNPRI Campus on Monday night (10/11/2025). Looking refreshed, very cohesive, and friendly, Prof. Dr. Nor Azwany Yaacob took the opportunity to express her delight and appreciation for the warm welcome from UNPRI as the host, as well as her admiration for the modern and representative campus facilities.
“I am very happy to be here at UNPRI. The facilities are excellent, the atmosphere is pleasant, and we feel right at home. In fact, my fellow lecturers took the time to shop for batik clothing at Pajak Ikan Lama Medan as a souvenir,” she said.
Attending UNPRI on Sunday night, the delegation from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) at the welcome dinner appeared close with the deans from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences, and Science and Technology at UNPRI, as well as other national delegations from the Chiba Institute of Science Japan, Toyama University Japan, and Nanjing Medical University China, who had participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) together from noon until the afternoon.
UNPRI’s Commitment Towards World Class University
UNPRI Vice Rector III Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., representing Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., who was unable to attend, affirmed in his speech that organizing this international conference is not just an academic event but also a tangible manifestation of UNPRI's commitment towards becoming a World Class University.
“We want to make this forum a sustainable space for cross-national collaboration. It's not just about meeting, but about producing concrete cooperation that impacts science and society,” he stated.
The Welcome Dinner agenda was just a small part of the international conference activities prepared by the committee. All attendees enjoyed dinner, enlivened by student performances entertaining the participants with nostalgic songs. The cultural diversity of many nations symbolized harmony and UNPRI's openness in building international networks firmly rooted in local wisdom.
After the Welcome Dinner on the first day, Monday (10/11/2025), all participants were invited to rest to continue the conference the next day, starting with The 2nd International Conference on Lifestyle Diseases and Natural Medicine (ICOLIFEMED) with the theme: “Integration of Healthy Lifestyle and Natural Medicine in the Prevention and Management of Modern Diseases.”
Global Publication Target and Network Strengthening
In addition to The 2nd ICOLIFEMED 2025, other international conferences will also be held, namely The 3rd ICEBesMA 2025, The 1st IFPLE 2025, and The 1st ICTIDE 2025. This year, UNPRI targets more than 3,000 participants, with 405 scientific papers and 57 research posters to be published in proceedings indexed by Scopus and WoS. Scientific publication will also be facilitated through Atlantis Press, UNPRI Press, and a number of reputable national and international journals.
The presence of the USM delegation along with representatives from seven other countries, totaling eight nations, is proof that UNPRI is now increasingly recognized as an international academic collaboration center in the western region of Indonesia. Through the spirit of togetherness and cross-national collaboration, UNPRI affirms its vision as a campus that not only excels in innovation and research but also plays an active role in strengthening friendship between nations through science, health sciences, science and technology, and management science.
