UNPRIPeduli: Universitas Prima Indonesia Distributes Logistics Aid to Flood Victims in Aceh Tamiang

Distributing Hope Through Humanitarian Aid

Aceh Tamiang – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), through its Disaster Emergency Response Community Service Program (PKM), participated in humanitarian efforts to assist communities affected by floods in Aceh Tamiang. This activity was carried out as a form of social concern from the UNPRI academic community and as support for the disaster management steps taken by the government.

The community service program, themed #UNPRIPeduli, focused on the distribution of logistics and basic necessity assistance for the victims. Aid was distributed to several severely affected villages, including Dusun Rukun (Desa Dalam, Karang Baru District); Sunting Village (Bandar Pusaka District); Sulum and Tanjung Gelumpang Villages (Sekrak District); as well as Sekumur, Suka Makmur, Rantau Bintang, Pante Cempa, and Babo Villages.

The Team Leader and Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology, Dr. Suratni Afrianti, S.T., M.Si., stated that this action is a form of social responsibility and care. "We are here to provide as much support as we can, while prioritizing the principle of coordination and strengthening the main efforts led by the government. We highly appreciate the swift action and hard work of all parties, especially the government and related agencies, in this emergency response," she said.

This humanitarian action involved several lecturers from various disciplines as a form of cross-sectoral collaboration, including:

In line with UNPRI's commitment to supporting sustainable disaster management, the #UNPRIPeduli program does not only focus on physical aid distribution. The involvement of lecturers from various expertise areas allows for a more comprehensive approach, covering health aspects, economic recovery, and educational support in emergency situations. This step is also aligned with support for SDGs 4, SDGs 9, SDGs 17 in creating a resilient and sustainable society.

Universitas Prima Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting humanitarian programs and stands ready to synergize with various parties in both emergency and post-disaster situations.
