Psychology Studies for Understanding Human Behavior
The Bachelor of Psychology program is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of human behavior, as well as the theories and applications of psychology in daily life. Students will study various branches of psychology, such as clinical psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, and educational psychology. In addition to theory, the program also offers opportunities for hands-on practice through research, counseling, and psychological therapy. Graduates of the Bachelor of Psychology program can work in various fields, such as human resource consulting, clinical psychology, and therapy, or pursue further education in specific specializations.

Philosophy of the Human Person examines the human being as a biological, rational, social, moral, free, and transcendent person through philosophical inquiry. Students explore human nature, body and soul, reason and will, freedom and responsibility, human relationships and society, meaning of life, human values and dignity, and their implications for understanding psychological life and behavior.
The Basic General Psychology course provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts, history, and various perspectives of psychology as a science, biopsychological processes, sensation and perception, learning, memory, and cognition, as well as the dynamics of motivation, emotion, and personality. Learning also covers human development across the lifespan, the basics of social psychology, and an introduction to abnormal psychology. Through this course, students are equipped with a foundational understanding of psychology to scientifically analyze and explain human behavior as a basis for advanced psychology courses.
The Introduction to Psychodiagnostics course examines the basic concepts of psychodiagnostics as a process of collecting and interpreting psychological data to understand individuals. Topics include the history and development of psychodiagnostics, the basic principles of psychological measurement (reliability and validity), types of test-based and non-test-based psychological instruments, the stages of the psychological assessment process, observation and interview as psychodiagnostic techniques, and the preparation of psychological assessment reports ethically in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.
A branch of psychology that studies how biological mechanisms—such as the brain, nervous system, and hormones—underlie and influence human behavior, thoughts, and mental processes.
The Multicultural Psychology course examines the basic concepts of multicultural psychology, cultural diversity, cultural identity, and acculturation, and their influence on individual behavior, cognition, and mental health. Students are equipped with the ability to identify cultural bias in psychological assessment and intervention, understand stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, and apply multicultural competence in ethical, inclusive psychological practice in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.
Advanced General Psychology is a course that examines in depth complex human mental processes, including attention, memory, language and thinking, intelligence and creativity, motivation and emotion, personality, attitudes, and social influence and group dynamics, as a foundation for critical analysis of individual behavior and social interaction.
The Statistics course covers the basic concepts of statistics and manual calculations for data processing in psychological research. The course materials include types of data, levels of measurement, the concepts of population and sample, and sampling techniques. Students are equipped with practical skills to construct frequency distribution tables (relative and cumulative), present data graphically (histograms, ogives), calculate measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), and measure data variability (variance, standard deviation, range, quartile). Furthermore, this course covers inferential statistics, which include theoretical distribution, probability, bivariate correlation (Pearson), simple linear regression analysis, the difference between correlation and regression, and the function and utility of t-tests (T-test) for testing group difference hypotheses.
This course covers the basic concepts of Civic Education, national identity, national integration, the constitution, democracy, law, citizens' rights and responsibilities, archipelagic insight, national resilience, and national defense to shape students who have Pancasila character, a sense of nationalism, love for the homeland, critical thinking skills, and the ability to actively participate in society, the nation, and the state.
General education in religion refers to foundational courses designed to develop students' understanding of spiritual values, ethics, morals, and theological teachings from their respective faiths, while fostering religious tolerance and moderation within a pluralistic society.

The Psychopreneurship course equips students with an understanding of entrepreneurship integrated with psychological perspectives. It covers the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and the psychopreneur mindset, ethical and socially impactful sociotechnopreneurship principles, consumer psychology and motivation in identifying business opportunities, the design of business models and psychology-based marketing strategies, and the development, evaluation, and launch of a business plan. Through a project-based approach, students are trained to analyze business opportunities from a psychological perspective, design business solutions centered on human behavior, and develop and present a business plan independently and in teams.
The Quantitative Research Methods course equips students with philosophical and practical understanding of quantitative research approaches in psychology, covering problem formulation, literature review and hypothesis development, variable identification, research design selection (descriptive, correlational, comparative, and experimental), development and testing of psychological measurement instruments (validity and reliability), sampling techniques, data collection, and data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics with statistical software support. This course emphasizes the application of the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics at every stage of research and the ability to disseminate research findings through methodologically accountable scientific reports/articles.
Experimental Psychology Research Methodology is a course that examines the principles, concepts, and procedures of experimental research in psychology. The course covers problem formulation and hypothesis development, identification and control of variables, experimental design, sampling techniques, measurement, data collection and analysis, interpretation of findings, and research ethics. Through theoretical and practical learning, students are expected to be able to design, conduct, analyze, and evaluate experimental research systematically and objectively in accordance with scientific principles.

A course examining leadership concepts, theories, styles, and practices from a psychological perspective, including self-leadership, situational and transformational leadership, communication, motivation, decision making, team building, conflict, ethics, inclusive leadership, and digital leadership.
Construction of Psychological Measurement Instruments is a course that equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to scientifically, ethically, and adaptively design, construct, evaluate, and develop psychological measurement instruments (scales and tests) in alignment with technological advancements. The course covers the stages of scale construction starting from identifying psychological constructs, operationalizing concepts, designing blueprints, item writing, conducting tryouts, quantitative item analysis (item discrimination and difficulty levels), and evaluating psychometric properties including reliability estimation (internal consistency) and validity testing (content, construct, and criterion-related validity) based on classical and modern test theories. Additionally, the course addresses various scaling methods (such as the method of paired comparisons, successive intervals, and summated ratings/Likert), the utilization of relevant statistical or psychometric software, and the application of the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics throughout all stages of instrument development.
The Psychology of Children with Special Needs course examines the basic concepts, classification, and psychological characteristics of various types of children with special needs (intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and specific learning disabilities), their psychological and social impact on children and families, the principles of early identification and initial assessment, the principles of inclusive education, and the design of psychological intervention and support for children with special needs and their families ethically in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.
This course equips students with the ability to apply psychological principles to the employee recruitment and selection process within organizations. It covers job analysis and human resource planning, recruitment strategy and sourcing along with initial candidate assessment, psychological selection methods (structured interviews, psychological testing, and assessment centers), and data-based selection decision-making, the validity and reliability of measurement tools, selection ethics, and new employee onboarding. Through a project-based approach, students are trained to design and simulate an ethical, evidence-based recruitment and selection process.
The Anti-Corruption Education course equips students with a deep understanding of the basic concepts, forms, and impacts of corruption in national and state life. Students study anti-corruption values and principles such as honesty, independence, discipline, responsibility, hard work, simplicity, courage, and fairness, and build a culture of integrity in personal, social, and professional life. Students also study corruption crime regulations, anti-corruption institutions, and the typology and modus operandi of corruption in Indonesia. Students are trained to understand community participation in corruption prevention and eradication, whistleblowing reporting mechanisms, and to design and implement anti-corruption actions/campaigns through case studies and practical projects. This course emphasizes strengthening a character of integrity, anti-corruption principles, and responsibility as a moral foundation for academic, professional, and social life.
Indonesian Language is a compulsory General Course (MKU) that all students must take. It is offered to strengthen students' character and is available in both odd and even semesters. The scope of the course covers the historical development of the Indonesian language, its status and functions, general spelling guidelines, word formation processes, word choice, sentences and effective sentences, paragraphs and their development patterns, scientific papers, popular scientific writing, and official letter writing.
This course aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of Pancasila as the foundation of the state, the state ideology, the nation’s way of life, and a source of values that guide social, national, and civic life.
A course that examines psychological concepts, theories, and empirical findings to understand human interaction with digital technologies and their influence on cognitive, affective, social, and behavioral processes. The course covers online identity and relationships, social media, digital well-being, problematic digital behavior, human–computer interaction, technology-based psychological services, gaming, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, digital research methods, as well as ethical, privacy, and data security issues in the application of technology within psychology.
The Basic Counseling Techniques and Practice course equips students with philosophical and practical understanding of counseling as a form of psychological intervention, covering foundational counseling theories and approaches, the code of ethics and scope of practice for Bachelor of Psychology graduates, client assessment and problem-identification skills through interviewing and observation, mastery of basic counseling skills (attending, active listening, paraphrasing, reflection of feeling, clarification, and feedback), through to supervised simulated basic counseling practice and the preparation of practice reports in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.
Disaster Psychology is a course that examines the psychological aspects of individuals, groups, and communities before, during, and after disasters, and the ethical application of psychological and psychosocial interventions to support disaster preparedness, response, and post-disaster recovery.

The Research Proposal course equips students with the ability to systematically develop an undergraduate thesis research proposal in psychology in accordance with scientific principles, covering the formulation of research topics and titles, background of the problem, literature review and theoretical framework, problem formulation, objectives and hypotheses, research methodology, and scientific writing and presentation techniques for the proposal seminar, while upholding the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.

The Civic Education course equips students with an understanding of the nature and objectives of civic education, national identity, and Pancasila as the foundation of the state and the nation's way of life. Students study Indonesia's constitution and constitutional system, human rights, democracy, and the principle of the rule of law, as well as the archipelagic outlook (Wawasan Nusantara), geopolitics, geostrategy, national resilience, and regional autonomy. Students are trained to analyze contemporary national issues through case studies, understand their rights and obligations as citizens, and apply forms of political participation, national defense (bela negara), and corruption prevention in social, national, and state life. This course emphasizes strengthening a Pancasila-based character, a spirit of patriotism, and sensitivity to diversity within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), as well as the ability to think critically and responsibly in facing national challenges in the global era, expressed through case-study projects and civic-education campaigns.

Students study the history of Pancasila's formulation and the dynamics and challenges of its practice, Pancasila as the foundation of the state and national ideology, Pancasila as a philosophical system (ontology, epistemology, axiology) and ethical system, and Pancasila as the value foundation for the development of science. Students are trained to analyze contemporary national issues through case studies, apply Pancasila values in personal, social, and psychology professional life, and design and evaluate projects to strengthen Pancasila values. This course emphasizes strengthening a Pancasila-based character, a spirit of nationhood, and the ability to think critically and responsibly in facing the challenges of national life amid diversity.

The Research Publication course equips students with the ability to convert undergraduate thesis research findings into a scientific article and publish it in an academic journal, covering manuscript preparation according to journal style (introduction, literature review, method, results, discussion, and conclusion), appropriate journal selection, the submission and review process, and an understanding of publication ethics in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.
Abnormal Psychology examines concepts of normality and abnormality, theoretical perspectives, characteristics of psychological disorders, biopsychosocial and cultural factors, assessment, prevention, recovery, and evidence-based intervention principles within the ethical boundaries and competencies of a Bachelor of Psychology.
This course equips students with the ability to manage their learning independently, strategically, reflectively, and continuously, while identifying information needs and locating, evaluating, organizing, synthesizing, using, and communicating information critically, effectively, ethically, and responsibly. The course covers metacognition, self-regulated learning, evidence-based learning strategies, information searching and evaluation, media and digital literacy, artificial intelligence literacy, personal knowledge management, academic integrity, and lifelong learning in academic, research, professional, and societal contexts.
The Mental Health course equips students with an understanding of the basic concepts and criteria of mental health from various perspectives, the biopsychosocial factors that influence it, the general classification of mental disorders, mental health across the lifespan, and stigma toward mental disorders in society. This course also equips students with the ability to identify the mental health needs of individuals, groups, and communities, design psychoeducation programs and mental health promotion and prevention efforts, and understand referral systems and cross-professional collaboration in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.

The Altisia course examines the format, purpose, and strategies for taking the Altisia test, an English proficiency test administered by Universitas Prima Indonesia with a format equivalent to international standardized English proficiency tests such as the TOEFL, covering three main sections: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension. This course equips students with effective question-answering strategies and techniques, structured practice exercises, test-time management, and a comprehensive Altisia test simulation as preparation for fulfilling the English proficiency graduation requirement.
