Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a course that studies the concepts, philosophy, basic principles, and health-care approaches of traditional Chinese medicine and their relevance to physiotherapy. This course covers fundamental TCM concepts such as Yin-Yang, Qi, Xue, Jing, Shen, the Five Elements (Wu Xing), Zang-Fu, meridians, and acupuncture points, as well as the concepts of body balance and principles of diagnosis and intervention from the TCM perspective. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of TCM massage/Tui Na, acupressure, stimulation of specific points, and their safe and ethical application as complementary approaches in physiotherapy practice. This course equips students with a critical understanding of the integration of TCM concepts with modern physiotherapy, including indications and contraindications, patient safety, professional communication, and evidence-based approaches to complementary therapy for musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and other health conditions.

• CPMK1 — Students are able to explain the fundamental concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the history of TCM massage development, the philosophies of Yin-Yang and Qi, the concept of bodily balance, and the meridian concept as the foundation of TCM massage.
• CPMK2 — Students are able to explain the principles, preparation, safety measures, indications, contraindications, precautions, positioning, communication, and ergonomics involved in performing basic TCM massage.
• CPMK3 — Students are able to apply basic TCM massage techniques systematically to the upper extremities, neck and shoulders, back, and lower extremities, as well as perform relaxation massage, while paying attention to pressure, direction, rhythm, duration, positioning, ergonomics, and patient safety.
• CPMK4 — Students are able to apply basic TCM massage within a physiotherapy context, adhering to the principles of evidence-based practice, patient safety, professional ethics, professional communication, and the scope of practice for physiotherapists.

Communication and Interpersonal Communication is a course that examines the concepts, principles, processes, and skills of effective communication in developing professional, therapeutic, and patient-centered interpersonal relationships within physiotherapy services. The course covers the basic concepts of communication, communication elements and processes, verbal and nonverbal communication, interpersonal communication, therapeutic communication, effective communication with patients and families, communication in special situations, cross-cultural communication, digital communication, ethics and professionalism in communication, as well as communication and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare services. Learning is directed toward developing students’ ability to establish therapeutic relationships, obtain relevant information, communicate health information clearly, provide education, practice active listening, demonstrate empathy, manage conflicts, and adapt communication strategies according to patients’ characteristics, conditions, needs, and backgrounds. This course equips students with professional communication skills as a foundation for physiotherapy assessment, intervention, education, health promotion, shared decision-making, and the delivery of safe, ethical, inclusive, patient-centered physiotherapy services that support interprofessional collaboration.

• CPMK1 — Students are able to explain the terms, elements, fundamental principles, and objectives of communication in healthcare and physiotherapy as a foundation for professional communication
• CPMK2 — Students are able to explain the principles of therapeutic communication, patient-centered communication, patient diversity, ethics, privacy, and patient safety, as well as the basic concepts of communication and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare
• CPMK3 — Students are able to apply therapeutic, professional, and interprofessional communication within the physiotherapy service process, including history taking, examination, education, intervention, structured clinical communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
• CPMK4 — Students are able to apply communication and interprofessional collaboration in an integrated manner within patient-centered physiotherapy services—including in complex cases, care transitions, and the use of digital communication and telehealth—through an integrative project

The Introduction to Physiotherapy course is a foundational subject that equips students with an understanding of basic concepts, philosophy, history, evolution, scope of practice, the roles and competencies of physiotherapists, professional ethics, the physiotherapy service process, communication and interprofessional collaboration, as well as evidence- and technology-based professional development, serving as the basis for shaping the identity and professionalism of aspiring physiotherapists.

• CPMK1 — Students are able to explain the basic concepts, philosophy, history of development, and scope of physiotherapy based on science, technology, and applicable regulations.
• CPMK2 — Students are able to explain the roles, competencies, professional ethics, and responsibilities of physiotherapists in providing professional, ethical, and patient-safety-oriented healthcare services
• CPMK3 — Students are able to integrate the physiotherapy service process, professional communication, and interprofessional collaboration into patient-centered physiotherapy care.
• CPMK4 — Students are able to recognize the importance of lifelong learning, Evidence-Based Physiotherapy, the use of information technology, and professional development in enhancing the quality of physiotherapy services.

Health Physics is a course that examines physical concepts and principles and their applications in health and pharmaceutical sciences. It covers quantities and measurements, body mechanics, fluids, pressure, temperature and heat, waves and sound, electricity and bioelectricity, optics, radiation, medical-device use, and occupational safety. Learning integrates theory, calculations, measurements, data analysis, and the application of physical principles to explain body functions, the use of healthcare equipment, and various problems in healthcare services.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the concepts of quantities and measurement, mechanics, fluids, temperature and heat, waves, sound, electricity, optics, and radiation and their applications in health sciences.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply physical concepts and calculations to solve problems related to body functions, medical-device use, and healthcare services.
• CPMK3 — Able to use measuring instruments and procedures accurately and safely to measure and evaluate physical parameters in health sciences.
• CPMK4 — Able to systematically process, analyze, interpret, and communicate health-physics data while demonstrating accuracy, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork.

Health Psychology is a course that examines the influence of psychological, behavioral, social, and cultural factors on health, illness, and the utilization of healthcare services. It covers concepts of health and illness, health behavior, stress and coping mechanisms, personality, illness perception, healthcare professional–patient communication, treatment adherence, behavior change, social support, quality of life, and psychological aspects of chronic diseases and special conditions. Learning integrates theory, case analysis, observation, therapeutic communication, health education, and the design of behavioral interventions to improve patient health and well-being.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the concepts, theories, and psychological, behavioral, social, and cultural factors that influence health, illness, and the utilization of healthcare services.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply health-psychology concepts to identify stress, coping mechanisms, illness perceptions, health behaviors, treatment adherence, and patients’ psychological needs.
• CPMK3 — Able to appropriately and ethically apply therapeutic communication, health education, and behavior-change techniques according to patient characteristics and needs.
• CPMK4 — Able to analyze health-psychology cases and develop, communicate, and evaluate interventions to improve health behavior, treatment adherence, quality of life, and patient well-being.

Basic Biomedical Sciences is a course that examines fundamental biological and medical concepts and principles as a foundation for understanding the structure, function, and mechanisms of the human body in health and disease. It covers body organization, cell biology, tissues, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, immunology, homeostasis, and the basic mechanisms of disease. Learning integrates theory, observation, case analysis, interpretation of biomedical data, and the application of concepts to understand changes in body functions and their relevance to healthcare.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the fundamental concepts of body organization, cell and tissue structure and function, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, immunology, homeostasis, and basic mechanisms of disease.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply basic biomedical-science concepts to explain relationships among structure, function, metabolic processes, body regulation, and changes occurring in disease conditions.
• CPMK3 — Able to use equipment, materials, procedures, and data sources accurately and safely to observe and evaluate basic biomedical structures, functions, and parameters.
• CPMK4 — Able to systematically analyze, interpret, and communicate basic biomedical data and cases while demonstrating scientific conduct, accuracy, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork.

Sociology and Anthropology of Health is a course that examines the relationships among social, cultural, economic, environmental, and societal-structural factors and concepts of health and illness, health behavior, patterns of disease, and healthcare utilization. It covers social determinants of health, cultural values and beliefs, illness behavior and healthcare-seeking practices, families and communities, health inequalities, plural medical systems, traditional medicine, cross-cultural communication, stigma, and social change in health. Learning integrates theory, social observation, case analysis, interpretation of cultural phenomena, discussion, and the development of recommendations for healthcare services that are sensitive to the social and cultural conditions of communities.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the concepts, theories, and scope of sociology and anthropology of health, including the relationships of social, cultural, economic, environmental, and societal-structural factors with health and illness.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply sociological and anthropological concepts to identify social determinants of health, cultural beliefs, illness behavior, healthcare-seeking practices, health inequalities, stigma, and healthcare utilization.
• CPMK3 — Able to ethically and responsibly conduct observation, cross-cultural communication, sociocultural data collection, and basic analysis of health phenomena in families and communities.
• CPMK4 — Able to analyze and interpret health problems based on their social and cultural contexts to develop and communicate inclusive, equitable, and culturally sensitive healthcare and health-promotion recommendations.

Pancasila Education is a course that examines Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state, the national ideology, a philosophical system, an ethical system, and a paradigm for social, national, and state life. It covers the history of Pancasila’s formulation, the meaning and interrelationship of its five principles, the position of Pancasila in the legal and constitutional system, national identity, democracy, human rights, unity, social justice, anti-corruption, and the application of Pancasila values in science, healthcare, and professional life. Learning integrates conceptual understanding, case analysis, reflection, discussion, ethical decision-making, and the application of Pancasila values in daily life.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the history of the formulation, position, functions, and values of Pancasila as the foundation of the state, national ideology, philosophical system, ethical system, and paradigm of national and state life.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply the values of belief in God, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice in personal, academic, social, healthcare, and professional life.
• CPMK3 — Able to demonstrate nationalism, tolerance, democracy, integrity, anti-corruption, respect for diversity, obedience to the law, and responsibility as a citizen.
• CPMK4 — Able to analyze national, social, scientific, health, and professional issues and develop and communicate solutions based on Pancasila values.

Religious Education is a course that examines religious values, teachings, ethics, morality, and spirituality according to each student’s faith as a foundation for developing character, integrity, and professional responsibility. It covers human relationships with God, oneself, others, society, the profession, and the environment; tolerance and interreligious harmony; respect for diversity; ethics in science and healthcare; and the application of religious values in academic, social, and professional life. Learning integrates understanding of religious teachings, reflection, case discussions, ethical decision-making, and the application of religious values in daily life.

• CPMK1 — Able to explain the concepts of God, humanity, morality, ethics, spirituality, and the fundamental values of one’s religion as a foundation for personal, social, academic, and professional life.
• CPMK2 — Able to apply religious values in developing faith, integrity, responsibility, respect for human dignity, environmental stewardship, and the fulfillment of academic and professional obligations.
• CPMK3 — Able to demonstrate tolerance, inclusiveness, empathy, and respect for religious, cultural, and belief diversity in social life and healthcare services.
• CPMK4 — Able to analyze moral and ethical issues and make responsible decisions based on religious values, humanity, justice, scientific knowledge, and professional ethics.
