OVERVIEW

By 2030, the Faculty of Agro Technology aims to be a leading, internationally competitive institution in sustainable oil palm plantation development, guided by the principles of Socio-Technopreneurship. To achieve this, the faculty is committed to producing highly skilled and professional graduates who are innovative, academically capable, and strong in leadership, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. Through science and technology, the faculty strives to advance sustainable oil palm plantations at local, national, and international levels.

Because the faculty upholds environmentally friendly, high-quality education, teaching, research, and community service (Tri Dharma of Higher Education), aligning with achievements, the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), and Outcome-Based Education (OBE), it has been recognized with an award as an Educational Institution for the Oil Palm Plantation Human Resource Scholarship, granted by the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency.

Pursue a career as an Oil Palm Plantation Assistant, Plantation Consultant, Researcher, Plantation Business Analyst, Investment Advisor for Oil Palm Plantations, Agropreneur, or Plantation Manager in state-owned enterprises (BUMN) or private companies.

With state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for practical learning, including Plant Physiology, Biological Control, Pest and Disease Management, Plant Breeding, Soil Science Fundamentals, and industry-based apprenticeships, you will gain the hands-on experience needed to excel in the field.

The faculty offers a four-stage leadership program to prepare you for a successful career:

  • Planters Orientation Program (Semester I) – A foundational introduction to the industry.
  • Beginner Orientation Program (Semester III) – Building essential skills and knowledge.
  • Intermediate Orientation Program (Semester V) – Deepening expertise and practical applications.
  • Professional Orientation Program (Semester VIII) – Final preparation for industry leadership.

This structured approach ensures a seamless transition from education to professional success.

MISSION

  • To provide education and teaching in the field of oil palm plantations with a perspective of socio-technopreneurship that is sustainable, innovative, and adaptive, in accordance with competency-based curriculum referring to KKNI and SNPT.
  • To conduct research beneficial for development in the field of oil palm plantations with a socio-technopreneurship perspective that is sustainable, innovative, and adaptive, and integrated into the learning process.
  • To carry out community service in the field of oil palm plantations based on reasoning and research works for the benefit of society and the nation.
  • To establish continuous cooperation with various parties, both governmental and private, at the regional, national, and international levels that is mutually beneficial.
  • To improve governance for strengthening accountability, and organizing an efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable organizational structure.

PURPOSES

  • To produce graduates who are of strong character, academically and professionally capable, with leadership and entrepreneurship/technopreneurship skills, and are innovative especially in the development of sustainable oil palm sectors.
  • To develop adaptive science and technology (IPTEK) for society and environmentally friendly with oil palm as the commodity.
  • To build cooperation and social awareness that is harmonious and mutually beneficial in the development and application of science and technology at the local, national, and international levels in the field of oil palm.
