FEB UNPRI Hosts "Trading or Investment" Seminar: Empowering Students with Capital Market Literacy
UNPRI Vice Rector III Encourages Students to Adopt Smart Investment Strategies
Medan, June 29, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) successfully hosted a seminar entitled "Trading or Investment" at the Main Hall, 10th Floor, UNPRI Campus, on Thursday (June 23, 2026). Attended by approximately 500 students, the event aimed to strengthen their understanding of capital markets and investment strategies in the modern era.
The event was officially opened by UNPRI Vice Rector III, Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. In his remarks, he emphasized that financial literacy is an essential skill for students. "Understanding the fundamental differences between trading and investing is crucial for students to make productive, secure, and well-planned financial decisions," he stated.
The seminar featured expert speakers, including Caroline Tiofanny, S.Ak., M.Si., CRA, CRP, AVP (Relationship Manager at Danareksa) and Enny Magdalena Saragih (Deputy Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, North Sumatra Office). The session was moderated by Tanti Octora Dwi Syah Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., M.M. The speakers discussed essential capital market instruments such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, as well as how to identify and avoid illegal investment schemes.
In addition to theoretical education, students were introduced to the BRIGHTS application to facilitate safe digital investment transactions. The existence of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery at UNPRI was also highlighted as a practical hub for students to conduct stock analysis and improve their financial competencies.
