## Head of UNPRI Business and Technology Incubator Brings Medan MSME Digital Transformation Issues to the International Forum ICISSS 2026 in Malaysia

Serving as Speaker and Panelist at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Dr. Dede Ansyari Guci Highlights the Strategic Roles of Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Fintech, and Digital Literacy

MEDAN — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to expand its global academic footprint in entrepreneurship and innovation. Head of the UNPRI Business and Technology Incubator (IBT UNPRI), Dede Ansyari Guci, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., was invited as a speaker and panelist at the 3rd International Conference on Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (ICISSS) 2026 held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia.

Organized by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in collaboration with the UniSZA Alumni Center Indonesia Chapter, the international conference brought together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and participants from countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Palestine, and Nigeria.

During the conference, Dr. Dede presented a compelling study titled “Digital Transformation and MSME Performance in Medan: The Roles of Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Fintech, and Digital Literacy.” The research focuses on the developmental dynamics of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan as they navigate the digital era.

He underscored four vital pillars driving MSME success in the digital ecosystem: digital marketing, e-commerce, fintech, and digital literacy. These elements are interconnected in helping entrepreneurs expand market reach, optimize financial transactions, and strengthen tech-enabled business governance.

Digital transformation is no longer just an option for MSMEs; it has become a necessity to survive and thrive amidst a rapidly changing business environment. However, technology adoption must be paired with enhanced digital literacy to deliver genuine added value to business owners, Dr. Dede stated before international delegates.

As Head of IBT UNPRI, Dr. Dede remains dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship, business incubation, and research commercialization. He emphasized that higher education institutions serve as strategic bridges connecting academic knowledge with societal solutions, successfully elevating local issues from Medan onto the global stage.
