Humanitarian Action by the Best Campus: UNPRI Successfully Collects 139 Bags of Healthy Blood for Medan
A Tangible Act of Concern by a Nationally Leading Campus, Universitas Prima Indonesia, in Supporting Public Health and Safety Through Blood Donation.
Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), as a leading socio-technopreneurship campus, once again demonstrated its social responsibility through a routine blood donation drive. Organized on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Mini Hall, 10th Floor of the Main Campus on Jalan Sampul, this event was held in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Medan city.
This humanitarian program, which has been held consistently for the past three years, involved 17 PMI personnel and professional medical staff. With full medical equipment and 15 mobile beds, the service began at 08:00 AM to welcome the high enthusiasm from students, lecturers, and the entire UNPRI academic community. The event aims to maintain national blood stocks and foster a spirit of sharing among the youth.
The event coordinator, Dr. Windania Purba, S.Kom., M.Kom., noted that all eight faculty units (UPPS) within UNPRI were encouraged to participate. This collective effort ensures that the blood collected is healthy and suitable for transfusion for those in need, such as accident victims, cancer patients, and those suffering from severe anemia. This initiative directly supports SDGs 4, SDGs 9, and SDGs 17 by integrating health awareness into the educational environment.
The occasion was highlighted by the presence of Vice Rector I, Dr. Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., who personally participated as a donor. He emphasized that blood donation is no longer a scary activity but a pleasant way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. According to data, 197 people registered for the drive, and after rigorous medical screening, 125 bags of blood were successfully collected to be stored in the national blood bank.
