UNPRI Humanitarian Action: Rapid Response in Cleaning and Restoring Aceh Tamiang Regional Hospital After the Flood
UNPRI Shows Solidarity Through Rapid Recovery Efforts for Aceh Tamiang Regional Hospital Affected by Flooding
Medan, December 12, 2025 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) once again affirmed its commitment to social action and community service through a mutual cooperation (gotong royong) cleanup of the flood-affected Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital (RSUD Aceh Tamiang). The activity was carried out on December 10–11, 2025, in Aceh Tamiang Regency, and involved the active participation of university leaders, lecturers, and students from various faculties.
This humanitarian effort was attended by Dr. dr. Muhammad Faridz Syahrian, M.K.M., President Director of Prima Vision Eye Hospital (RSK Prima Vision); Dean of the Faculty of Agro Technology, Dr. Suratni Afrianti, S.T., M.Si.; Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, S.E., M.S.M.; as well as lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, and student groups who directly participated. This cross-faculty collaboration showed the strong unity and high concern of the extended UNPRI family for the community affected by the disaster.
The activity focused on cleaning various health service facilities, ranging from inpatient rooms, administration rooms, installation areas, to other public facilities that were submerged by the flood. Participants worked together to lift damaged materials, remove mud, sterilize the rooms, and help rearrange medical facilities so that health services could safely and optimally resume operations immediately. This effort is expected to accelerate the recovery process of RSUD Aceh Tamiang as an important health facility for the local community.
UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., expressed deep appreciation and full support for the organization of this humanitarian activity. “I highly appreciate the concern and quick action of the UNPRI academic community in assisting the recovery of RSUD Aceh Tamiang. This activity is a tangible example of the values of humanity, solidarity, and social responsibility that we continue to instill in all members of the academic community. UNPRI will always be present in the midst of society, especially when they need help. We will continue to fully support every action that provides direct benefits to the community, especially in disaster situations,” she stated.
Through this mutual cooperation effort, UNPRI hopes to make a real contribution to the recovery of health facilities in Aceh Tamiang while strengthening the role of the university in supporting disaster relief. This activity also serves as an important moment to foster a sense of empathy, care, and togetherness among the UNPRI academic community.
