Penetrating Global Trade Markets: UNPRI Export-Import Division Holds Batch I Training for Academic Community

Equipping Students, Lecturers, and Alumni for International Trade.

Medan — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), through its Export-Import Division, continues to accelerate its efforts in strengthening the global competencies of its academic community. UNPRI successfully conducted the Batch I Export-Import Training for entrepreneurial students and alumni with proven business acumen across various sectors. Held over two days spanning 16 learning hours on September 29–30, 2026, in a hybrid format at the U 2003 Hybrid Room on the 20th floor of the UNPRI Main Campus, the event engaged entrepreneurs and faculty members from UNPRI Medan, the PSDKU UNPRI campus in Riau, and Universitas Adiwangsa Jambi.

Head of the UNPRI Export-Import Division, Dr. Ir. Deni Faisal Mirza, M.M., appointed by the UNPRI Rector seven months ago, explained that this training follows a successful introductory talk show on export-import. Building on this momentum, UNPRI is committed to continuously developing the potential of students, alumni, and lecturers through export-import business initiatives implemented on a quantum pattern every two months. In the upcoming second batch, the training aims to accommodate a larger number of participants, involving students, alumni, faculty members, and campus tenants, stated Dr. Deni during the event.

The program was officially opened by the UNPRI Rector, featuring 40 training participants and 8 expert speakers from diverse strategic institutions and associations. These included coffee export entrepreneurs, palm oil empty fruit bunch fertilizer exporters, the Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association (AEKI), the North Sumatra Fish, Animal, and Plant Quarantine Center, the North Sumatra Regional Office of Customs and Excise, the North Sumatra Industry and Trade Office, and PT Pegadaian Regional Office I (North Sumatra and Aceh).

In his opening remarks, UNPRI Vice Rector III expressed high expectations that the training would empower entrepreneurial students, alumni, and lecturers to become professional exporters in the future, aligning with UNPRI's transition into an internationally recognized institution. He emphasized expanding the scope of the UNPRI Export-Import Division to engage broader business communities beyond the campus in Medan.

High praise was also delivered by key speaker Susilawati, President Director of PT Bintang Tiga Jaya. In her presentation, she affirmed that UNPRI is the pioneer university known to provide practical education and export opportunities for students through its dedicated division. We salute UNPRI. Despite being only 7 months old, the Export-Import Division has successfully responded to global market demands by exporting coffee to the Philippines and Australia in collaboration with PT Bintang Tiga Jaya last June and August, she stated.
