Dean of FKIP UNPRI Participates in the North Sumatra Female Professors & Doctors Poetry Parade
UNPRI's Commitment to Supporting Artistic Expression and Cultural Literacy Among Academic Leaders.
Medan, April 20, 2026 — The Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), Dr. Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum., attended and participated in the "North Sumatra Female Professors & Doctors Poetry Parade." Organized by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU) in collaboration with Satupena North Sumatra, the event was held at the Prof. T.A. Ridwan Multipurpose Hall, FIB USU, on Monday (Apr 20, 2026). This event was part of the 2026 Kartini Day commemorations, honoring the legacy and thoughts of Raden Ajeng Kartini.
The program, which ran from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB, was officially opened by the Dean of FIB USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. In her remarks, she emphasized that the parade is a form of appreciation for the intellect and the spirit of female emancipation in North Sumatra. Dr. Dian Syahfitri joined dozens of other female academics from various universities, including USU, UNIMED, UINSU, UISU, UMSU, and UNHAR, to perform selected poems before the invited guests.
The Chairperson of Satupena North Sumatra, Dr. Shafwan Hadi Umry, expressed his appreciation for this cross-university collaboration. He noted that the synergy between FIB USU and Satupena plays a vital role in strengthening literacy culture to build national character. The presence of the Dean of FKIP UNPRI reflects the institution's commitment to supporting the development of literacy and culture within North Sumatra's academic environment.
At the end of the event, Dr. Dian Syahfitri received a certificate of appreciation and a book from the Dean of FIB USU and Satupena North Sumatra as a token of gratitude for her contribution. This award serves as a reflection of UNPRI's active role in strengthening the cultural and literacy ecosystem, aligned with the spirit of Kartini that continues to thrive in the modern academic world.
