FBK UNPRI Receives Literacy Partnership Award from the North Sumatra Language Center
Literacy Appreciation and Evaluation: A Collective Commitment to Strengthening Literacy Culture in North Sumatra
Medan, June 26, 2026 — The North Sumatra Language Center (Balai Bahasa Provinsi Sumatera Utara - BBPSU) held an "Appreciation and Evaluation of Literacy" event at the Rinjani Hall, BBPPMPV BBL, on Wednesday (June 24, 2026). This event served as the culmination of BBPSU’s literacy strengthening initiatives, aiming to reflect on literacy achievements across North Sumatra.
The Head of the General Affairs Division of BBPSU, Nofi Kristanto, S.H., representing the Head of BBPSU, emphasized that this evaluation is a collective effort. "We hope the results of this event will serve as a reflection to further improve our literacy levels in the future," he stated in his official remarks.
As part of its literacy efforts, BBPSU actively collaborated with universities in Medan through the "Essay Writing Language Krida" program. Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) participated extensively in this initiative. UNPRI student Rachel Margareth Christine Hulu achieved a notable success by placing in the top 10 best essay writers.
In recognition of this partnership, the Dean of the Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK) at UNPRI, Dr. Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum., received an award as a Literacy Enhancement Partner in North Sumatra. "Together, we fight for the importance of literacy. If only a few people are involved, the impact may be limited. But if we act together, we can achieve literacy for the greater good," stated Dr. Dian Syahfitri.
