UNPRI Conducts Internal Socialization of PKKM Participant Briefing in 2023

Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held a socialization event for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) for the odd semester of 2023 at the Main Campus Hall, Jalan Sampul 3, Medan City. The event, which was held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, was attended by WR 1 UNPRI and Chair of the UNPRI PKKM Program Implementation Task Force, Abdi Dharma, S.S., M.Kom, as well as the Program Manager, Herbert Wau, SKM, M.P.H, CHCSA, along with members of the task force team, representatives of deans/heads of study programs, and around 500 students participating in the PKKM program.
In his remarks, WR 1 UNPRI said that the PKKM Program is a flagship program of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research, Technology and Higher Education which aims to support the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) activities. Since its implementation in 2020, this program has changed the paradigm of higher education by requiring universities to focus more on producing competent and professional graduates, who are ready to step forward with confidence and face the world of work according to their respective expertise.
WR 1 emphasized that PKKM is a rare and valuable opportunity for three selected study programs and University programs (ISS-MBKM) at UNPRI to prove their quality in more depth. "This PKKM program is a rare opportunity for 3 study programs and University programs (ISS-MBKM) to prove their quality. I hope that students who take part in this program can demonstrate their abilities and dedication as part of the UNPRI academic community. And of course, we really hope that this program can continue and provide benefits for students in the following years," said WR 1.
Abdi Dharma expressed his hope that the PKKM program could continue in the long term, continuing in the second year and providing benefits for future students. He spoke about the university's long-term vision to continue to produce quality graduates who are highly competitive in the world of work. The PKKM program is expected to be the first step in efforts towards better academic achievement and achieving recognition as a competitive educational institution.
Next, the event continued with a briefing on the four PKKM programs by each coordinator. The Instructional Support System Program (ISS-MBKM) by the PKKM Program Manager, Herbert Wau SKM, M.P.H, CHCSA The Law Study Program was directed by Rizki, S.H., M.Kn; the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program was guided by Sartika Sari, S.S., M.Hum; and the Information Systems Study Program was led by Evta Indra, S.Kom, M.Kom. During the briefing, participants were given a deep understanding of the programs they would undergo.
The PKKM socialization event was closed with a commitment from UNPRI to make the PKKM and MBKM programs a success in general. It is hoped that through this program, students can develop their potential and obtain better quality education, in accordance with the vision and mission of UNPRI as a superior university that is able to produce quality graduates who are highly competitive in the world of work.
The Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) is expected to have a positive impact on students and universities, as well as encourage the realization of the ideals of quality higher education that is in accordance with the needs of the times. Hopefully, program participants can take maximum advantage of this odd Semester 2023 PKKM.
