FKKGIK UNPRI Holds Public Lecture: Transformation of Pharmacist Competence in the Industrial Era 5.0 Towards National Pharmaceutical Independence

Medan, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, Universitas Prima Indonesia (FKKGIK UNPRI) held a Public Lecture entitled "Transformation of Pharmacist Competence in the Industrial Era 5.0 Towards National Pharmaceutical Independence", Saturday (5/10/2024) at the UNPRI Main Campus Hall, Jln. Sampul No. 3 Medan.
In the Public Lecture, FKKGIK UNPRI invited Prof. Dr. Drs. apt. Yufri Aldi, M.Si and Prof. Dr. apt. Tiana Milanda, M.Si as a resource person. Prof. Dr. Drs. apt. Yufri Aldi, M.Si as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Andalas University, Padang, and Prof. Dr. apt. Tiana Milanda, M.Si., is a Professor at Padjadjaran University, who is also the developer of the Pharmacy Study Program and Pharmacist curriculum.
Both speakers are experts in the field of pharmaceutical research, both nationally and internationally. Today's public lecture was guided by apt. Razoki, S.Si., M.Kes., M.Biomed., M.H as the moderator, and attended by 1000 students of the Clinical Pharmacy Undergraduate Study Program and the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program.
Prof. Dr. Drs. apt. Yufri Aldi, M.Si delivered material related to Innovation and Development of Natural Medicines (OBA) in Increasing Body Immunity in the Industrial Era 5.0. According to him, there are 3 functions of the body's immune system, namely; defense, homeostasis and supervision.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. apt. Tiana Milanda, M.Si said that to guarantee the quality and safety of drugs from upstream to downstream or from industry to patients in accordance with the latest regulations in Article 145 paragraph (2) of Law No. 17 of 2023 concerning Health, Pharmacist Competency Transformation is a must. Therefore, a pharmacist is required to be competent in order to play a role in society.
Prima Indonesia University is committed to routinely and consistently implementing Public Lectures as a means of providing information and updates on knowledge and information to institutions, medical personnel, the public and especially prospective graduate students.
Today's Public Lecture activity is expected to increase the interest of prospective pharmacist graduates to become researchers to accelerate the development of Natural Medicines in the industrial era 5.0.
In their closing, both Prof. Dr. Drs. apt. Yufri Aldi, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. apt. Tiana Milanda, M.Sc., expressed their pride in Universitas Prima Indonesia, because UNPRI already has Excellent Accreditation, which will help develop graduates' careers and always provide routine knowledge update information.
Previously, the Dean of FKKGIK Prof. Dr. dr. H. Gusbakti Rusip, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP (K)., PKK., AIFM., AIFO-K who was represented by Deputy Dean I Dr. dr. Linda Chiuman, M.K.M., M.Biomed, said that the Industrial Era 5.0 emphasizes collaboration between humans and technology, where automation and artificial intelligence (AI) play an increasingly important role. "This opens up great opportunities for pharmacists to transform, develop skills, and become more adaptive and creative in facing global challenges," said Dr. dr. Linda Chiuman.
The Public Lecture was attended by Vice Dean I Dr. dr. Linda Chiuman, M.K.M., M.Biomed., Vice Dean II Dr. dr. Maya Sari Meutia, M.K.M., M.Biomed., Vice Dean III Dr. Santy Deasy Siregar, SKM., M.Kes., Vice Dean IV Kol.CKM (Ret.) drg. Susanto, M.Kes and teaching staff of the Clinical Pharmacy Study Program such as apt. Roy Indrianto Bangar, S.Farm., M.S.Farm, apt.
