UNPRI Chancellor Releases 14 International Internship Students to Malaysia
Medan – A total of 14 students from Prima Indonesia University (UNPRI) were officially released to take part in an international internship program, a collaboration between UNPRI and partners in Malaysia. They were officially released by UNPRI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., Monday (11/11/2024).
Of the fourteen students who took part in this internship program, seven came from the Management Study Program, namely Vincent Stevano, Nelvi Syafitri, Charryn Wangsadinata, Andriani, Selvina Zai, Theresia Br Wargain-angin and Rachel Pasioni Desima, one student from the Mandarin Language Study Program Business and Professional Communication, namely Jessica, a student named Dwi Andini from the Accounting Study Program. The nine students from the economics faculty were witnessed by Deputy Dean I, Bayu Wulandari, S.E., M.Si., and Deputy Dean 3, Dr. Fenny Krisna Marpaung, S.E., M.Si.
The release of the international internship students was also witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Bhakti Alamsyah M.T, Ph.D, because there is one student from the Computer Information Systems Study Program, namely David Bremana Stepanus. Likewise, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Elvira Fitriyani Pakpahan, S.HI., M.Hum., released two of her students, namely Nicholas Ng and Salsabila Cikitayani. And one student from the Faculty of Agrotechnology, namely Febi Aloina Br Sitepu, witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology, Dr. Suratni Afrianti, S.T., M.Si.
The implementation of international internships as an implementation of cooperation between UNPRI and partners in Malaysia through PT. Prima Andalan Sumberdaya, Sea Education and Sky Academic. This internship program will last for six months and one year according to the student's choice, with internship placements in Malaysia spread across the Hatten Hotel (Malaka), Sheraton International Hotel (Kuala Lumpur) and The Riyaz Hotel (Langkawi).
"This shows that UNPRI is now increasingly present in the international realm, and is one of the universities that pays attention to students who graduate so they can work abroad, as well as providing opportunities to adapt to new cultures in a professional work environment," said the Chancellor of UNPRI.
Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M. Kes. added, the implementation of this internship program is an effort to build a positive image and a big step that is in line with the campus's vision of becoming an international university in 2026, so that this activity introduces UNPRI in the national and international realm.
"Of course our son's departure is an opportunity to introduce UNPRI, especially the faculties whose students take part in the international internship program. "And this will also have an impact on increasing the interest of prospective students to choose UNPRI as a place to continue their education by guaranteeing that graduates will immediately get jobs," he said.
The Chancellor of UNPRI expressed his desire for students to take more initiative in overseas internships that are stronger and longer-term for students like this, which have the potential to provide great benefits for students and for UNPRI.
"We really hope that in the future, more students can be sent to take part in international programs like this, because apart from providing great benefits for students, this can also increase the existence of the campus in terms of accreditation and from the perspective of the surrounding community," he said.< p>
Furthermore, the Chancellor of UNPRI emphasized the importance of students upholding the good name of their alma mater, diligently fulfilling their obligations and responsibilities. The goal is for UNPRI to be recognized as a top university in Indonesia.
“We want to leave a message to the students who are leaving today. Do your best in your internship and proudly represent your alma mater university. "I hope that in the future this program will bring greater benefits to UNPRI, because all parties have worked hard to elevate it to become an international institution," he concluded.
