Medan, August 27–29, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) successfully held its 8th Period Graduation Ceremony for 2026 at the UNPRI Main Hall across three successive days from August 27 to 29, 2026. A total of 3,168 graduates from across all faculties were officially conferred their degrees in a grand celebration that marks the largest graduation event in UNPRI's history. Among the graduates are the inaugural cohorts of specialist physicians: 3 specialists in Family Medicine and Family Care (KKLP) and 3 specialists in Radiology—a historic milestone establishing UNPRI as a pioneering private university in Indonesia capable of independently producing medical specialists.
The opening ceremony on Thursday (August 27, 2026) was attended by UNPRI Founder Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes., AIFM., Sp.K.K.L.P.; Chairman of the Daily Executive Board (BPH) Prof. Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn.; UNPRI Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes.; and Head of LLDikti Region I North Sumatra Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, M.A., Ph.D., who delivered an address virtually via Zoom Meeting.
In her opening remarks, UNPRI Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting expressed profound gratitude and pride in the institution's collective achievements. She specifically highlighted the graduation of the first batch of KKLP and Radiology specialists as a testament to the university's academic excellence. "Today's graduation of our inaugural batch of KKLP and Radiology specialists is more than an administrative milestone; it is a profound testament to UNPRI's commitment to delivering independent, top-tier comprehensive healthcare for the people of Indonesia," stated Prof. Chrismis. She also outlined UNPRI's strategic vision as a continuously growing, innovating, and impactful institution aligned with the Impactful Diktisaintek spirit.
Meanwhile, LLDikti Region I Head Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang extended his full support and admiration. "UNPRI's remarkable achievement of graduating 3,165 students and independently producing medical specialists is a tremendous source of pride for North Sumatra's higher education ecosystem. LLDikti Region I remains fully committed to supporting UNPRI's progressive strides in nurturing globally competitive talent," remarked Prof. Saiful.
This historic ceremony was further distinguished by the Conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees (H.C. UNPRI) upon three prominent figures in international medicine and national law enforcement, accompanied by scientific orations from each recipient. The honorary degrees were bestowed upon Dr. (H.C. UNPRI) Exequiel P. Yumang, M.D., President of the Philippine Society for Cosmetic Surgery and Philippine Federation of Cosmetic Surgeons, recognized as a leading Southeast Asian cosmetic surgeon for his international contributions to aesthetic medicine. Similar honors were awarded to Dr. (H.C. UNPRI) Al Farabi Lee Jaafar, M.D., Chairman of the Philippine Board of Cosmetic Surgery (PBCS), as a pioneering leader in establishing professional aesthetic medical standards across Asia, and to Dr. (H.C. UNPRI) Drs. Marzuki Ali Basyah, M.M., Head of the Aceh Regional Police, recognized as a national law enforcement leader for his dedication and service in maintaining public security and order in Aceh.
