UNPRI Strengthens Academic Synergy: Partners with USU to Launch New Specialist Study Programs
The collaboration covers guidance, consortium development, and academic transplantation for the establishment of new Specialist Programs in Pediatrics, Orthopedics & Trauma, Neurology, and Dermatology & Venereology.
Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) officially established a strategic partnership with Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) through the signing of a partnership agreement held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM WIB at the USU campus, Medan.
This cooperation was signed by Dr. drg. Susanto, M.Kes., representing UNPRI, along with the leadership ranks of Universitas Sumatera Utara. The collaboration covers three main forms of partnership: mentoring partnership, consortium partnership, and secondment partnership, aimed at developing new study programs within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK) at UNPRI.
The study programs to be developed under this partnership include: Specialist Program in Pediatrics, Specialist Program in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Specialist Program in Neurology, and Specialist Program in Dermatology and Venereology.
Through this cooperation, UNPRI and USU are committed to strengthening inter-university synergy in efforts to improve the quality of medical education in North Sumatra. This step is also expected to expand access and opportunities for prospective specialist doctors to receive competent, comprehensive, and high-standard education.
Dr. drg. Susanto, M.Kes., stated in his speech that cooperation with one of the largest state universities in Indonesia is an important momentum for UNPRI in developing the institution's capacity, especially in the field of health professional education. “This collaboration is a manifestation of UNPRI's commitment to expanding its academic network, improving the quality of learning, and providing more quality specialist study programs for the community,” he said.
The signing of this agreement marks a strategic milestone for UNPRI in strengthening its role as a higher education institution oriented towards developing human resources in health in Indonesia. Through solid and structured inter-institutional cooperation, UNPRI affirms its readiness to continue contributing to the improvement of the quality of medical education services at the regional and national levels.
