UNPRI, Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) is further strengthening its position as a leading private university in Indonesia. UNPRI itself was founded by Prof. Dr. dr. I. Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes., AIFM., AIFO., Sp.KKLP(K), initially as the Prima Nursing and Midwifery Academy in 2001. Thanks to a clear vision, the institution evolved into the Prima Husada Medan College of Health Sciences in 2002, ultimately transforming into a leading university that continues to thrive to this day.
UNPRI's eight faculties house a variety of highly competitive study programs. The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences offers leading programs such as the Bachelor of Medicine, the Bachelor of Dentistry, the Bachelor of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Bachelor of Public Health, along with professional degrees for physicians, dentists, and pharmacists. Postgraduate and specialist programs are also comprehensive, including the Master of Biomedical Science, Master of Tropical Medicine, Master of Clinical Medicine, Doctor of Medical Science, and specialist programs in primary care, radiology, ophthalmology, cardiology and blood vessels, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia and intensive care, and internal medicine. With the support of seven specialist medical education programs (PPDS) under the Faculty of Medicine, UNPRI is the private university with the most PPDS and the private university with its own main teaching hospital in Indonesia.
The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Professional Nursing, Professional Midwifery, and Master of Nursing. The Faculty of Economics and Business offers excellent opportunities for graduates with a Bachelor of Applied Mandarin for Business Communication, a Bachelor of Management, a Bachelor of Accounting, a Master of Management, a Master of Accounting, and a Doctor of Management. The Faculty of Science and Technology offers contemporary study programs such as undergraduate degrees in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, informatics, information systems, architecture, civil engineering, and visual communication design (DKV). Meanwhile, the Faculty of Agrotechnology focuses on undergraduate degrees in agrotechnology and agribusiness, while the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education offers undergraduate degrees in Indonesian language and literature education, undergraduate degrees in English language education, and master's degrees in Indonesian language education.
In the fields of law and psychology, UNPRI also offers flagship programs. The Faculty of Law offers a bachelor's degree in law, a master's degree in law, a master's degree in notary, and a doctorate in law. The Faculty of Psychology offers a bachelor's degree in psychology, and soon-to-be launched professional psychology education with an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum that is adaptive, applicable, and relevant to the needs of industry and society. The current 54 study programs across these eight faculties make UNPRI not only the university with the largest number of study programs in Medan, but also the university with the most comprehensive academic options, in demand by industry in North Sumatra, Indonesia, and internationally.
To further expand its reach, UNPRI has opened an Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Six study programs are available: a bachelor's degree in medicine, a doctoral degree in medicine, a bachelor's degree in psychology, a bachelor's degree in management, a bachelor's degree in information systems, and a master's degree in public health. The presence of the PSDKU demonstrates UNPRI's commitment to providing access to quality higher education and provides a solution for prospective students in Riau and the surrounding area who wish to continue their studies at an excellent campus without having to travel far.
