UNPRI, Medan – The Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) invites young generations from all over Indonesia — high school/vocational school graduates, diploma (D3/Polytechnic) holders, and transfer students — to join the Bachelor of Architecture Program, officially established under the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 204/E/O/2022. This flagship program is under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST) and is an ideal choice for those who wish to make a real contribution to the development of better spaces, cities, and environments through a design and technology approach.
Architecture is the science and art of designing buildings and other built environments that are both functional and aesthetic. The main goal of UNPRI’s Bachelor of Architecture program is to shape visionary, creative graduates with strong social and ecological awareness in spatial design. Beyond becoming architects, graduates can also pursue careers as interior designers, urban planners, design consultants, contractors, or work in government sectors such as the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) or the Department of Spatial Planning and Building. With the S.Ars (Bachelor of Architecture) degree, students are provided with a strong foundation to advance to the professional architect level (Intermediate Architect).
In the learning process, UNPRI Architecture students not only study design, planning, and building construction, but also explore architecture based on local wisdom and sustainability principles. The curriculum is designed to foster sensitivity to social, cultural, and environmental issues that influence the spatial design process. Students are also equipped with knowledge of modern construction technology, architectural history, design principles, project management, site analysis, as well as proficiency in 3D design software and environmentally friendly building materials. Through design studio activities and internships in the industry, students have the opportunity to sharpen practical skills while gaining real-world architectural experience.
Under the leadership of Dr. Meyga Fitri Handayani Nst, S.T., M.T. as Head of the Study Program, and Prof. Ir. Bhakti Alamsyah, MT., Ph.D. as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Bachelor of Architecture Program at UNPRI continues to innovate by offering a curriculum relevant to current needs, such as Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Supporting facilities include modern buildings, design studios, comfortable classrooms, and practical laboratories, available both on and off campus. In addition, UNPRI has internship collaborations with construction companies, architectural consultants, and spatial planning agencies, enriching students’ real-world experience.
To become an architecture student, one needs an interest in spatial design, visual sensitivity, drawing or critical thinking skills, and the enthusiasm to solve problems creatively. UNPRI welcomes students from various regional backgrounds, as the university recognizes that architecture is a universal language that evolves from cultural diversity.
