Collaboration between Universitas Prima Indonesia and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital Taiwan
Contacted separately, Dean of FK-UNPRI, dr. Yahwardiah Siregar, PhD added that the purpose of holding this studium generale event was to provide the latest information on developments in the fields of general medicine and dentistry. Many people in Indonesia, especially in the city of Medan, suffer from heart disease, reproductive organ cancer, and tooth loss that interferes with chewing function, so that targeted and efficient treatment is needed in terms of time and choice of treatment. Young doctors and prospective doctors / dentists are expected to understand these conditions from the start and be able to follow developments abroad to be adapted to the needs of their patients here.
"This UNPRI-I Studium Generale is a collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry of UNPRI. We are fortunate to be able to present expert doctors from Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia who convey various important things about the latest developments in treatment in their fields. Doctors / dentists and students can broaden their insights on how to diagnose, existing treatment plans, and treatment of heart disease in children and adults, cancer of the reproductive organs in men and women, HIV / AIDS, and dental implants. It is hoped that UNPRI graduates will become more competent doctors / dentists and be able to treat their patients appropriately and efficiently," said Yahwardiah on this occasion.
Yahwardiah hopes that young doctors and UNPRI students who participate in this Studium Generale will gain knowledge and skills from the seven expert doctors, especially from the Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital Taiwan. He added that the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Unpri have collaborated with the teaching hospital in Taiwan since 2009, so that students of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Unpri can be sent to the hospital for further training.
He saw the enthusiasm of the FK and FKG Unpri students in participating in this Studium Generale and added that "Participants were very enthusiastic when participating in the event and understood the need for more knowledge to become more competent doctors / dentists.
Supervisor, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes, AIFM, presented a souvenir to the Superintendent of Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital, Dr. Huang Jung-King, MD, PhD, who was represented by Prof. Albert Hsieh, DDS, EMBA.
