UNPRI Tzu Ching Celebrates 11th Anniversary and Hosts Etiquette Class: "Together Unstoppable."
Shaping Graduates with Not Only High Intellectual Intelligence But Also Noble Character and Humanistic Values.
Medan, April 19, 2026 — The youth association of Universitas Prima Indonesia students, Tzu Ching UNPRI, held two meaningful activities simultaneously on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the 3rd Floor of the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation Medan Office, Jl. Boulevard Timur—namely the Tzu Chi Etiquette Class and the Tzu Ching UNPRI 11th Anniversary Celebration. Carrying the theme "Together Unstoppable," the event was attended by 31 Tzu Ching and Tzu Chi volunteers who arrived with great enthusiasm and a spirit of togetherness.
Preparations for the activity began the day before, on April 18, 2026, when volunteers gathered to arrange the room, set up the registration desk, check technical equipment, and make pudding for the participants' consumption. Amidst the preparations, some volunteers also took the time to practice sign language performances to be presented the following day—a small glimpse of the dedication and solidarity that is the soul of Tzu Ching UNPRI.
The activity on the day of implementation opened with a stunning sign language performance of "Mars Tzu Ching," followed by a main session on Tzu Chi etiquette presented by Jusni Lina, an experienced committee volunteer. This material aimed to ensure that Tzu Ching volunteers do not only understand Tzu Chi values theoretically but are also able to internalize and apply them in daily life. The next session invited all participants to trace the long history of Tzu Ching UNPRI—from its inception to its various achievements and activities that have been and will be realized. The series of events then continued with a meaningful sign language performance of "We are Tzu Ching."
The most moving moment came at the end of the event when Nyo Swan Sim, mentor of Tzu Ching UNPRI, and Dr. Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., advisor of Tzu Ching UNPRI, delivered messages of love to all volunteers. "The hope is that Tzu Ching UNPRI can continue to grow and continue to inspire more students to participate in humanitarian activities," said Nyo Swan Sim with great warmth.
The main coordinator of the activity, Charlin Kwok, admitted that the journey of preparing for this event was not without challenges, especially in terms of communication between the persons in charge. However, she viewed this as a valuable lesson. "The hope for Tzu Ching UNPRI in the future is that Tzu Ching UNPRI members can invite more young people and cultivate more fields of blessings," she expressed.
At the age of 11, Tzu Ching UNPRI proves that the spirit of togetherness and concern for others remains a solid foundation. With the theme "Together Unstoppable," this anniversary celebration is not merely a birthday commemoration—but a reaffirmation of the commitment of young volunteers to keep moving, keep giving, and keep inspiring.
