UNPRI, Medan - A group of students from the Pharmacist Professional Study Program (PSPPA), Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Prima Indonesia (FIK UNPRI), have officially begun their Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) at the Indonesian Naval Pharmacy Institute (LAFIAL) Drs. Mochamad Kamal.
This activity is a concrete implementation of practice-based pharmacy education that prioritizes quality, discipline, and professionalism. This strategic collaboration reinforces UNPRI's position as a leading socio-technopreneurship campus that consistently delivers work-based learning.
The Dean of FIK UNPRI, Dr. Santy Deasy Siregar, SKM., M.Kes., explained that the internship at LAFIAL is a crucial step in preparing adaptive future pharmacists. According to her, collaborating with a military institution provides a unique and challenging real-world experience, enriching students' insights into the dynamic national pharmaceutical industry.
Vice Dean of FIK UNPRI, apt. Razoki, S.Si., M.Kes., M.Biomed., M.H., accompanied by the Head of the PSPPA Study Program, apt. Vera Estefania Kaban, S.Farm., M.Farm., stated that this program is designed to bridge the gap between theory and field practice. Students are introduced directly to strict industrial standards, including drug production mechanisms, quality control, and the latest pharmaceutical regulations.
This year's participants consist of ten resilient students: Cut Inssy Mulun, Rahma Yulina Al-Farini, Nurhanifah Sihotang, Monica Silviyana Simbolon, Jecika Stefany Br Tumanggor, Loice Desy Krisna Yanti Waruwu, Anggun Pratiwi, Desi Natalia, Nuraisyah Amanda, and Yusmaniar.
During the internship, students receive comprehensive learning regarding pharmaceutical production processes, from raw material preparation to Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) mechanisms. They also study regulatory aspects and risk management as primary requirements for implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (CPOB).
Representatives of LAFIAL Drs. Mochamad Kamal expressed appreciation for UNPRI's trust.
