The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) Allocates IDR 30.1 Billion for the Impactful Student Executive Board Program, UNPRI Achieves 3rd National Ranking for Qualified Proposals
"UNPRI achieved third place nationally in the Kemdiktisaintek Impact Student Executive Board Program, a testament to the creativity and quality of students in benefiting the community."
UNPRI, Jakarta - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) has allocated a budget of IDR 30.1 billion for the Student Executive Board (BEM) under the Impactful Students program. The funds were focused on supporting 263 community empowerment program proposals through the Student Executive Board (BEM). At the Artotel Gelora Senayan Jakarta on Wednesday (September 10, 2025), Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) received recognition at the 2025 BEM Impact Announcement Peak Night for five successful proposals. Minister of Education and Technology Brian Yuliarto revealed that the Directorate General of Research and Development (Ditjen Risbang) has formulated policies to ensure that relatively limited funding can still generate impactful research. This was marked by the signing of contracts between the Directorate General of Risbang and several university representatives regarding the implementation of several programs. The contracts for the implementation of several programs include the Impactful Research Consortium (RIKUB) Program, the Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment by the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Community Service Program for the Region-Based Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Scheme, and the Community Service Program for the Community-Based Empowerment Scheme Batch III.
"The Directorate General of Research and Development has formulated a plan to maximize quality research even with limited funding. I hope the existing achievements can continue to be maintained, as I am confident that there is a lot of superior research that we can push towards downstreaming," said Brian.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Research and Development (Dirjen Risbang) at the Ministry of Education and Technology, Fauzan Adziman, detailed the funding allocation for these programs. The Impactful Research Consortium (RIKUB) Program, for example, received an allocation of IDR 45.4 billion to fund 82 proposals. This program is a collaborative research scheme that encourages synergy between universities and the business and industry sector (DUDI), State-Owned/Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMN/BUMD), government agencies, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). This program is also designed to bridge the "valley of death," a critical phase when many potential innovations fail to reach the product downstream stage.
Furthermore, the Student Executive Board's Impactful Student Program received funding support of IDR 30.1 billion for 263 proposals. This Community Empowerment initiative by BEM aims to strengthen the role of students as key actors in social development through student organizations. Young people are given strategic space to design scientific programs, utilize research findings as the basis for interventions, and contribute directly to solving real-world problems in society. "Thus, the younger generation will not only be encouraged to engage in social action, but will also foster a culture of reflection, critical thinking, and collaboration through a participatory approach with the community. Through these programs, we hope that research and innovation can develop significantly and directly address community needs," he said.

Meanwhile, I Ketut Adnyana, Director of Research and Community Service at the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Education and Technology, confirmed that his office is ready to provide technical guidance if needed to support the smooth implementation of the program. According to him, the synergy between universities, students, industry, and the community will be able to produce innovations that don't stop in the laboratory but provide real benefits for national development.
"We have two hopes for these schemes: first, a tangible impact for both recipients and the target community; second, the establishment of healthy collaboration, not competition," he concluded. (Yd).
