Concrete Step By The University To Accelerate Socialization, Early Screening, And Public Participation In National Healthcare Programs
Medan, September 25, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held a Technical Coordination and Cross-Sector Synergy Meeting with the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office and Medan City Health Office at the UNPRI Campus, Medan, on Friday (Sept 25, 2026). This consultative meeting focused on strategic steps to accelerate the national Free Health Check-Up (*Pemeriksaan Kesehatan Gratis* - PKG) program.
Attending the audiocast were UNPRI leaders, including Vice Rector IV Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.KKLP(K), COPC; Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FKKG) drg. Susanto, M.Kes.; and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) Dr. Santy Deasy Siregar, S.K.M., M.Kes.
Meanwhile, the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office delegation was led by Murni Sari, S.K.M., M.K.M. and her team, accompanied by Medan City Health Office representative Masrita Lumbantobing, S.K.M., M.Kes. and staff. Leaders and representatives from related community health centers (*puskesmas*), including Rantang Puskesmas, Darussalam Puskesmas, and Bestari Puskesmas, were also present.
UNPRI Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, expressed appreciation for the presence of the health officials at the campus. He outlined UNPRI's comprehensive health science ecosystem profile, spanning diploma, bachelor, master, doctoral, professional, and specialist education programs.
"UNPRI is fully committed to supporting and synergizing with government programs, particularly in strengthening public health resilience through preventive efforts and early detection," stated Dr. Ali Napiah.
North Sumatra Provincial Health Office representative Murni Sari, S.K.M., M.K.M., emphasized the urgency of accelerating the PKG program in North Sumatra and Medan. Provincially, the PKG target is set at 46 percent of the roughly 15 million population, while current achievements hover around 28–29 percent. In Medan, synergy with UNPRI’s resources—including thousands of health science students, faculty members, and campus facilities—is projected to significantly boost screening rates.
The PKG program is a centralized national preventive early detection service utilizing the SatuSehat Mobile application based on National Identity Numbers (NIK). The service covers all life cycles from newborns to the elderly, screening for cardiovascular and metabolic risks, stroke and heart disease, mental health, infectious diseases, and reproductive health. UNPRI health faculty students will also be mobilized as agents of change to educate the public, supported by structured scheduling and digital registration activation with partner health centers.
