Rector: UNPRI PSDKU Pekanbaru Campus Ready to Facilitate Students to Achieve Maximum Potential

Pekanbaru, Universitas Prima Indonesia PSDKU Pekanbaru Campus held an Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activity on Saturday, October 5, 2024. This activity aims to provide new students with an understanding of the campus environment, lecture system, and introduce various programs and services available at Universitas Prima Indonesia PSDKU Pekanbaru Campus.

The Chancellor of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes officially opened the PKKMB activity. In his remarks, Prof. Chrismis expressed his pride in UNPRI's achievements which continue to develop into a superior and competitive higher education institution. The Chancellor emphasized that education at UNPRI does not only focus on academic achievement, but also on character building, soft skills development, and instilling leadership values ​​and integrity.

"These new students are the future of the nation, and at UNPRI, we are committed to guiding and facilitating students in achieving their maximum potential, both as individuals and as part of the wider community," he explained.

Prof. Chrismis also emphasized the importance of adapting to changes in the digital and globalization era, where innovation and critical thinking are the keys to success. "Welcome to an academic environment that will encourage you to continue to develop, innovate, and make a positive impact on the world," he concluded with enthusiasm.

Previously, the Director of Universitas Prima Indonesia PSDKU Pekanbaru Campus, Dr. Salim Aktar, M.Pd, conveyed his welcome to all new students. "UNPRI would like to thank the guardians of the students who have given their children's trust to us to learn, educate, and develop into superior new human resources," said Dr. Salim.

Dr. Salim also highlighted this year as an important moment, with the opening of the Medical Study Program and the Master of Public Health, which is a strategic step for UNPRI in expanding the scope of quality education.

"We hope that new students can take advantage of all available opportunities to learn, innovate, and contribute to society, as well as provide information to the wider community that studying at UNPRI is the right choice. With the addition of this study program, we are increasingly ready to produce a generation of professionals who play an important role in building the future of the nation," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector I, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom, introduced the online-based academic system implemented at UNPRI through SPADA (Online Academic Learning System). Abdi Dharma explained how this system makes it easier for students to access lecture materials, attend classes, and manage assignments flexibly, allowing students to study anywhere and anytime.

In addition, Vice Rector I reminded the importance of students' responsible attitude in maintaining the security of their personal data when using online platforms. "Students must always be aware of the potential risks that can arise in the digital world, including the protection of personal data and sensitive information. We urge every student not to share their personal information with unauthorized parties, and to always use strong and unpredictable passwords. With a careful approach to digital privacy, students can enjoy a safe and secure learning experience in the UNPRI academic environment," he said.

After that, Vice Rector III, Said Rizal, S.H.I., M.A delivered material on "UNPRI Creative", an innovative initiative designed to encourage student creativity in various fields, both at the PSDKU Pekanbaru Campus and the Medan Campus.

Vice Rector III explained that this program aims to develop student talents through various activities, such as creative work competitions, workshops, and collaborations with the creative industry.

According to him, the integration between the theory learned in class and practice in the real world is very important. "We want to encourage students to not only focus on academic achievement, but also to dare to innovate and create something new. Thus, they can become agents of change in this increasingly competitive era," he added.

The event continued with very important material about defending the country and love for the homeland, delivered by Colonel of Infantry Nunung Wahyu Nugroho, M.Si from Korem 031/Wira Bima.

In his presentation, students were invited to become a tough young generation and ready to contribute to maintaining the integrity and sovereignty of the country. "We all have an important role in building this nation, both k through education, work, or real actions in society," he said.

Nunung Wahyu also emphasized the importance of having a sense of pride as an Indonesian citizen, and invited students to actively discuss various issues facing the nation.

To create an interactive atmosphere, Colonel Infantry Nunung Wahyu Nugroho, M.Si invited students to share their views and experiences on how they can contribute to the country.

With challenging questions and warm discussions, the atmosphere of the event became even more lively, where students seemed enthusiastic to get involved and give their opinions.

As the closing of the PKKMB series of activities, all new students were invited to participate in various games designed to strengthen team cohesion and cooperation. These games provide a cheerful atmosphere and a spirit of togetherness, so that new students can get to know each other better and create bonds of solidarity as fellow UNPRI academicians.

In addition, on this occasion it was also reminded that registration for the Medical Study Program is still open for new students who are interested. "We invite those of you who aspire to become doctors to join us, because the world of health needs a young generation full of enthusiasm and dedication. Let's make this dream come true together," said the committee.

With high enthusiasm, new students are expected not only to be active in activities, but also to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and develop. The PKKMB activity ended with the hope of establishing togetherness and commitment to support each other in undergoing the education process at UNPRI.
