The College of Internal Medicine Praises UNPRI for its Quality on a Par with State Universities
The College of Internal Medicine (PAPDI) expressed its appreciation to UNPRI for its commitment to maintaining the quality of medical education, which is considered to be on par with state universities.
Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) welcomed an official working visit from the Committee of Internal Medicine (KIPD), the Collegium of Internal Medicine, and the Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine (PAPDI). The visit took place on Friday, October 3, 2025, in the Main Conference Room, 10th floor of the UNPRI Campus, Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan Petisah, Medan City.
The visit aimed to assess UNPRI’s readiness in establishing the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) in Internal Medicine, as well as to provide academic input and guidance to ensure the program meets national and international quality standards.
The visiting delegation consisted of: Chairman of KIPD, Dr. Rudy Hidayat, Sp.PD-KR, FINASIM, FACR; Chairman of the Collegium, Dr. IGP Suka Aryana, Sp.PD-KGer, FINASIM; Chairman of PAPDI, Dr. Eka Ginanjar, Sp.PD-KKV, S.H., MARS, FINASIM; Secretary General of PAPDI, Dr. Nadia Ayu Mulansari, Sp.PD-KH, Onk.M, FINASIM; Head of Specialist Development, Prof. Dr. Dyah Purnamasari, Sp.PD-KEMD, FINASIM; Member of Quality and Accreditation Division, Dr. Robert Sinto, Sp.PD-KPTI, DPhil, FINASIM, FHEA; and Secretariat, Kanu Eltantrie, S.K.M.
The delegation was received by UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK), Prof. Dr. Gusbakti Rusip, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP(K); Head of the Internal Medicine Specialist Program, Dr. O.K. Yulizal, Sp.PD-KGEH; and Director of Royal Prima Hospital Medan, Dr. Wienaldi, M.K.M., FISQUA. Also present were vice rectors, vice deans, study program heads, and FKKGIK lecturers.
This visit served as part of the evaluation and support process for the establishment of UNPRI’s PPDS in Internal Medicine. The KIPD, PAPDI, and Collegium teams provided direction related to curriculum, quality standards, facilities, and graduate competencies.
The delegation also visited Royal Prima Hospital Medan, UNPRI’s main teaching hospital. The event concluded with a friendly gathering and a brief scientific discussion between the Collegium team and UNPRI’s academic community.
On this occasion, UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, expressed gratitude for the support given by the Collegium of Internal Medicine for the opening of the PPDS at UNPRI. She emphasized UNPRI’s commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health’s policy under President Prabowo’s ASTACITA program for equitable distribution of medical specialists outside Java. “UNPRI is determined to be a strategic partner of the government in producing globally competent specialists,” said the Rector.
The Rector also expressed appreciation to UNPRI Founder, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes., AIFM., Sp.KKLP., for his continuous support in developing medical education at UNPRI.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Collegium, Dr. IGP Suka Aryana, Sp.PD-KGer, FINASIM, stated that UNPRI is the first private university in Indonesia to open a Specialist Program in Internal Medicine. He noted that the university’s academic quality, curriculum, and facilities are equivalent to those of public universities.
He also expressed pride that UNPRI currently operates seven specialist medical programs and six teaching hospitals across North Sumatra and Jambi, with expansion plans to Riau Province (Pekanbaru City). “KIPD and PAPDI fully support FKKGIK UNPRI’s efforts to achieve international accreditation,” he said.
