UNPRI FE Lecturers Hold Community Service to the Berkat Iman Sejahtera Medan Orphanage
A number of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Prima Indonesia (FE UNPRI) conducted Community Service at the Berkat Iman Sejahtera Orphanage, located on Jln.Sampul No. 49 Medan.
The FE UNPRI lecturers who conducted the Community Service were divided into three groups, namely the Finance Group, the HR Group and the Marketing Group. The lecturer groups delivered socialization with different themes according to their Tree of Knowledge on campus
The Finance Group conducted "Socialization of the Early Savings Movement to Improve Skills in Financial Management", where Dr. William, S.E., M.Si explained the meaning of saving, the benefits and goals of saving, and the correct way to save.
"The correct way to save, do not save from the rest of our money, because very often we have no money left. But immediately take for example 20% of our money and set it aside for savings, the rest of the savings we use for our needs", he said, accompanied by other lecturers in this group, including Agus Tina, S.Ak., M.Ak., BKP, Khana Saputri S.M., M.M, Afriza Amir S.E,.M.Si and Ninta Katharina SE, M.Si .
Meanwhile that, the HR Group delivered “Socialization of the Role of the Social Environment on Savings Behavior in Children, where Maisara Batubara, S.E. M.Si presented the importance of direction from parents or guardians and also teachers at school about the importance of saving from an early age.
“We live surrounded by the environment, such as school friends, playmates, teachers, parents, guardians. If you see your friends at school talking about saving, maybe your heart will be moved to save from pocket money or other sustenance. Teachers at school also want to encourage our children to save. "We are also sure that the foundation administrators here will definitely direct the children to save," said Maisara Batubara, SE, MSi accompanied by lecturers in this group, such as Kristi Endah N Ginting, S.E., M.M and Fariza Fitria, S.E., M.M.
Meanwhile, the Marketing Group delivered a Socialization of Character Development and Entrepreneurial Spirit of Orphaned Children Through Non-Formal Education Through Life Skills. As the Group Leader, Rahmat Alamsyah Harahap., S.P., M.M. conveyed the importance of developing an entrepreneurial spirit, so that from an early age they have an interest in starting a business, not just thinking about working at someone else's place or in a company, but from an early age they are creative in thinking about what business to open. front.
“Nowadays, we live in a sophisticated era, so we can easily obtain information about what businesses are being developed from small activities, what businesses are trending. You must have seen on television, what creative efforts are displayed by young people in Indonesia who then progress and open up job opportunities, and they also help the government overcome unemployment", said Rahmat Alamsyah Harahap., S.P., M.M accompanied by other lecturers such as Winda Sri Astuti Doloksaribu, S.E. M.Si, Dede Ansyari Guci, S.E. M.Sc. Ph.D, Lidya Natalia Pasaribu, S.Ak., M.M , Mangasi Butarbutar, SE, MM, Mohd. Nawi Purba, STP, MM and Dr. Drs Jarungjung Hutagaol, M.MA, MM.
In addition delivering the socialization of the three themes above, the lecturers who are members of the three groups also handed over donations in the form of rice, instant noodles, chicken eggs, cakes and sugar. "Don't look at the amount, ladies and gentlemen of the foundation administrators here, look at our sincerity in giving joyfully. Hopefully this package can ease the needs of the children here. Moreover, we are neighbors with the UNPRI campus", said Dr. William, S.E., M.Si and Winda Sri Astuti Doloksaribu, S.E. M.Si representing the lecturers.
When giving piggy banks to 17 foster children at the Berkat Iman Sejahtera Orphanage, a number of lecturers also put some funds into their piggy banks, as a sign of the start of the savings movement. The provision of these funds was also intended to motivate all children in the place to be motivated to increase and save.
Setiawan as the Head of the Berkat Iman Sejahtera Orphanage expressed his gratitude to a number of UNPRI FE lecturers for their attention, increasing the insight of the 17 children they care for and also providing basic food assistance.
"Thank you, sir, for coming to visit us. Hopefully the enlightenment given to our children can increase their insight. Hopefully the assistance given is blessed by God, and also the Lord Jesus may repay "snya by giving blessings to fathers and mothers and their families," he concluded.
