The Bachelor of Medical Education is an undergraduate program designed to prepare aspiring doctors to understand and master medical science and the clinical skills necessary to become competent medical professionals. This program typically lasts around 5-6 years, depending on the curriculum and educational system of each country. During their studies, students not only learn medical theories but also gain practical experience through rotations in various hospital departments, such as surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics-gynecology.In the early stages, students study the fundamentals of medical science, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology. This aims to build a strong knowledge foundation before entering the clinical phase. Additionally, students are taught medical ethics, communication skills, and patient management, which are crucial aspects of daily medical practice.After completing the preclinical phase, students enter the clinical phase, where they are directly involved in patient care under the supervision of experienced doctors. This is an opportunity for them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life situations, hone diagnostic skills, and learn to make appropriate medical decisions. Upon graduation, they usually must complete an internship or residency before taking a certification exam to obtain a license to practice as a doctor.The Bachelor of Medical Education emphasizes not only technical medical aspects but also the development of soft skills such as empathy, teamwork, and effective communication with patients and their families. Graduates of this program are expected to become not only medically proficient doctors but also caring and highly ethical professionals in carrying out their duties.

This course covers the fundamentals of human structural organization and function, alongside an introduction to the integumentary system (the skin and its associated structures). Students will study basic anatomy, histology, and physiology, as well as essential principles of cellular and molecular biology as a foundation for medical science. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to comprehend the human body's structure and function holistically, identify the skin's role as the body's primary line of defense, and explain the relationship between microscopic and macroscopic tissue structures.
The Sensory and Locomotor System is an integrated system comprising sensory organs, the nervous system, the musculoskeletal system, and the physiological and pharmacological mechanisms involved in receiving, transducing, processing, and interpreting stimuli from the environment and the body, as well as generating and controlling movement responses. This system encompasses vision, hearing, balance, olfaction, gustation, somatic sensation, motor coordination, and movement regulation, which function together to maintain interaction with the environment, motor coordination, balance, and adaptive body functions.
The Body Fluid Regulation System block covers the normal structure and function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, and urinary systems as an integrated unit that maintains body fluid homeostasis. The content includes the anatomy, histology, embryology, and normal radiological appearance of these three systems. The block also addresses the physiological and biochemical mechanisms that regulate cardiac output, blood pressure, ventilation and gas exchange, renal function, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid–base balance. In addition, it examines blood, hemostasis, blood groups and transfusion, microorganisms of the respiratory system, and the basic pharmacology of drugs that affect hemostasis, blood pressure, and fluid volume. Learning is delivered through expert lectures, practicums, scenario-based case analyses and presentations, and active recall daily assessments. Through these activities, students become able to analyze the interrelationship of structure, function, and pharmacological modulation of the three systems in maintaining body homeostasis.
The Bioethics and Humanities 1 Block serves as a transformative bridge from a high school graduate into a medical student who is prepared for self-directed learning, upholds professional ethics, and is capable of effective communication and critical thinking based on scientific evidence.
Trains core clinical procedures, aseptic techniques, and basic physical exams as the foundation for medical practice.
This course aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of Pancasila as the foundation of the state, the state ideology, the nation’s way of life, and a source of values that guide social, national, and civic life.
