Public Lecture on Health Services at FKKGIK UNPRI Attended by 850 Participants

Medan, FKKGIK Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held a Public Lecture entitled "The Role and Challenges of Competent Health Workers in Strengthening Primary Health Services", Tuesday (12/17/2024) attended by 850 participants at the Ballroom, 22nd Floor, UNPRI Campus, Jln. Sampul No. 3 Medan.

In the Public Lecture attended by the Director of PSDKU UNPRI Dr. Salim Aktar, S.Pd., M.Pd. The Rector of UNPRI, WR 2, WR 4 and the Dean of FKKGIK presented resource persons Dr. H. Nopriadi, SKM., M.Kes, Head of LLDIKTI Region XVII.

Dr. H. Nopriadi, SKM., M.Kes emphasized that the most important factor in strengthening primary health services is the competence of human resources working in these health services, such as: doctors, nurses, midwives, SKM, pharmacists and other health workers.

For this reason, health workers must improve their competence through training, improve skills and master developing technologies. "Digitalization helps health workers and the community to prevent disease and improve health status. To improve Public Health, efforts that need to be encouraged include health promotion, special protection, early diagnosis and early protection, disability limitation and rehabilitative,” he said.

Dr. H. Nopriadi emphasized that specifically for Public Health workers, the competencies that have been set need to be achieved to provide quality services, plus mastery of technology in the digitalization era in this modern era.

In the Public Lecture guided by Dr.dr. Sri Lestari Nasution., MKM as the moderator, the competency of a public health worker according to Dr. H. Nopriadi, among others, is Able to Conduct Studies and Analysis (Analysis and Assessment), Develop and Design Health Policies and Programs (Policy Development and Program Planning), Understand Local Culture (Cultural Competency/Local Wisdom), Able to Communicate Effectively (Communication Skills), Able to Implement Community Empowerment (Community Empowerment), Understand Public Health Science Skills (Public Health Science Skills), Plan Finances and Be Skilled in Management (Financial Planning and Management Skills) and Have Leadership and System Thinking Skills (Leadership and System Thinking Skills).

Dean of FKKGIK UNPRI., Prof. Dr.dr. H. Gusbakti RUsip., M.Sc., PKK., AIFM., Sp.KKLP(K), in his speech emphasized the need for socialization to health students about the competencies that will be achieved as prospective health workers, because in the current era, competencies are required accompanied by skills to provide quality services and mastery of technology.

"Health workers who will serve the community in health facilities need to always improve their capacity to be able to provide the best service," he concluded.
