Facing the MEA "Improving the Quality of Graduates is Absolute Choice"
"The quality and quantity of Indonesian workers have always been a concern, both domestically and in neighboring countries. This is because the issue of employment, skill capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit have become interesting words since the entry of the MEA in Indonesia," Faculty of Technology and Computer Science (FTIK) Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held the second national seminar. The theme of the seminar was the role and strategy of the academic community in preparing graduate competencies to meet the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
The purpose of this seminar is to provide insight and knowledge about the AEC and provide views on the role of the academic community and facing the AEC,* said Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Computer Science Unpri Abdi Dharma, accompanied by the Chairperson of the Committee Mawaddah Harahap, Deputy I Mardi Turnip, Deputy II Hendrik Siagian, Secretary Siti Aisyah, and treasurer Winda Nia Purba, to reporters.
At the seminar, said Abdi, his party presented two speakers, namely the Director of LSP Telematics in the field of construction service strategy for the Jakarta professional institution Victor Terinathe, and the Chairperson. General of APTIKOM Jakarta in the field of Academic Community Views Zainal Arifin Hasibuan. Abdi said, the young generation, students, even graduates of state and private universities in Indonesia, especially Medan City, must continue to compete to find gaps and opportunities to continue to seize opportunities, develop themselves in achieving success, the quality and quantity of Indonesian workers continue to attract attention, both from within the country and from neighboring countries. In this situation, said Abdi, each country is making every effort to increase the capacity of its citizens' resources considering that currently the ASEAN region will be fully integrated with the global political economy, socio-culture, media and communication. So that all groups place their main focus and hopes on the world of education. Abdi said, improving the quality of graduates is an absolute choice. At this level, standardization of universities is one of the choices so that the resources produced are truly tough and competitive. "What needs to be done is a comprehensive and holistic evaluation with significant improvements to the curriculum, student practice, scientific work and research of students and teaching staff, additional references, mastery of information and communication technology, mastery of media or media literacy, education and teaching systems or processes that are centered on students, creatively utilizing opportunities and chances, space and media for the application of each student's creativity including teaching staff." explained the bespectacled man
